We are on this
Colossal crystal ball
Holds secrets
Of this universe
Its origin unknown
Maybe it
Carried life forms
From all planets
Multiple universes
A microscopic replica
Of the macroscopic universe
Secret origins
Our minds unable to investigate
Visions not perceptive
Lacks the depth
Cannot read from the crystal ball
History is concealed
At its core
Forces which created this
Was aware not to reveal much
The crystal ball narrates
In its mystical waves
Only for the select few
In harmony, can decipher
The mystery of the crystal ball
Life will continue

It wasn't what was expected, never was
It meant to be as was seen,
"Where would you hide darkness"
"Where would it be unseen"
In the sight of all
In the sight of the seen,
For the best kept secret
Is that we are but husks
For the darkness lives in-between.

We were always afraid,
We had a phobia of the suffocating
Essence of darkness of all unseen.
But it looked through the cracks
Like a window we were showing
It things other wise never seen,
It feeds in here, in those it tainted.

Pride
Envy
Gluttony
Lust
Anger
Greed
Sloth

Each twisted into their purposed need,
We all had a bit of one a little of the other,
Its us, with out these who would we be,
But feed they did, for its own prize,
For we thought it was within the dark places
When it was already here.

The pupil expands like ecstasy, where
Purity was, only darkness sees. it gestures
Our thoughts hiding within, Free thought
You think but the whispers not heard
From deep within.

They will never be in darkness, where we
Think they live, for there greatest trick is
That we are their doors, opening and closing
A protective skin. They are of twilight of
Those voices that made us do it, no insane
Moment, uncontrollably driven, where does
It hide, through the crack let in, the darkness
Is in the light, beware of what is really seen.

You cannot fix yourself with what

you destroyed yourself with.

Uncertainty fills the air
And suddenly I'm not so sure.
Nostalgia begins to decay
But why?
Heavy, heavier...
I inhale and sigh with, what, exasperation?
Creation?
These are all mere distractions
To prevent myself from colliding
With myself,
With how I feel.
Emotional trauma, Part I -
Coming soon to a childhood near you!
We laugh it off
But it does not leave us.
Nothing can leave us
As easily as you walked away
That night.
I will not forget what I saw.
Engraved in my brain
Causing me to crumble
Tumble, tumble...
**Crash.

Time and risk caught up to you;
Gagged you into silence.
Chasing down the dragon was
Your favorite form of violence.

I saw its markings on your skin;
The gauntness of your eyes
Your searching fingers scratching down
To truth, as you breathed lies

China white won this round, love
You thought you'd always dance
The dragon chose another one
And turned its gaze askance.

Toss a penny my way
---:::---:::---

O how can I stand the pain
How can I rearrange
My bones set... and yet so strange
My mind itself becomes deranged

I break... I break... I BREAK...
... my own bones...

O darkness... estranged friend...
it's stolen pathways wind and wend
I've come back to try again
I have come to make amends...

... for something I didn't do...

I perceive the ocean vast
Through my eyes of eisinglass
I run my race on razor grass
With bare feet I make this pass...

I see... I see... I SEE...

,,, through a mask...

... of solid glass...

I wrote this poem for a friend.
She was having a rough time.
She gave me the inspiration for
some of the metaphor in this piece.
