grumpy thumb
Dainty hours
spent with her petal soft smile
lush exchanges
how her mouth makes words warm
delicate  moments
when our eyes held each other
little desolate
when hands separated
and time disconnected us
as it blindly does
without so much as an apology

you saw a garden in full bloom,
you didn't shy away,
didn't think twice about anything,
stepped in quickly and quietly,
and before it could even shift its nature,
you had already picked the roses
and stepped out.

give them back to me,
please.
i miss you ann. you were the first person i shared my poetry with, and the first person i had a crush on who i didn't feel like would ever work. i wish i could find you again.

no sooner had the pond
become sparklingly clean
after an afternoon of sweeping
by the bending willows

than quack quack
came a flock of swaggering ducks
on their muddy feet

before the mirror
I gnashed my teeth and stuck out
my tongue at the shadow
the shadow gnashed its teeth
and stuck out its tongue at me

on the busy street
I glared at a passerby
who stepped on my foot
instantly he glared back

on a quiet night
I blinked at the stars
and the stars blinked at me

on the dewy field
I nodded my head slightly
at a little blue flower
the little blue flower
nodded back

getting up early this morning
with a pleasant mood
I whistled at a little bird outside my window
the little bird happily whistled back

at this moment I am thinking
of the unknown little girl
in my sweet dream last night
I can’t seem to recall
who was the first to smile
she or I

The crisp cool air settles on the lake
My voice travels along the water, a soft fog
Vibrant crimson
Lush orange
And the deep brown of the earth
Paint a canvas of life

Some of life's best moments are free

you laughed
and the tulips began to bloom
they didn’t care if it was june
or how the constellations moved
for i, the sun, had found my moon
and in my photographic mind
i’d see the timeless dance
we’d find
if you did stay
i’d find new ways
to tell you how much magic
can live within the space
of your warm hands
upon on my face
how every dream
of mine would drip
out from corners of your lips
how constellations in me grew
the moment my bare skin felt you
+Cosmic love songs synched to tunes
of my lost stars that sparked in you
but when you left i swear they
grew and now you
shine through
all i do

Honeysuckle scents
and shoes on pavement,
purple-painted skies
and sweat-drowned skin,
rose-colored cheeks
and hidden smiles

Change lies sleeping on those swirls in the horizon,
awaiting the day I wake its dreams.

All aboard the train lost to time,
feel it lurch forwards as bells chime.
Signal this present departure of mine,
and past departures on this narrow line.

the truth runs wild
the truth runs free.
i've never felt happier
than when you're with me.
