  Nov 2015 Oxytocin
Jack Thompson
Have you ever stumbled upon someone life-shatteringly special?
You lose your breath and can't think straight.
But somehow they've stuck around.
Feeling like a stunned vegetable to your innocent charisma.

Like divine intervention we met in the most unlikely of ways.
We hit it off and spent hours together, confined and stressed.
How did we get along so well?
How did we manage to learn more together than alone?
How did we manage to find each other in this big world?
I'll always wonder if there is more to this story.
Answers to my plaguing questions that rule my emotional state.

I don't know how to describe what it is I feel in a rational way.
It doesn't serve rationale.
Writing it all down or saying it only compounds how crazy I must sound.
But I'm not a loony bin. On the contrary, you are just infinitely more special than you realise!

But I'll not skip a note nor bump a chord.
Because I see you so finely in all your elegance.
A beauty which radiates in an innocent manifestation.
I can't tell if everyone else can see it also.
They must?!
I must have no chance here.
I know I should cut my losses and move on.
Right..?
Hope to find this feeling once more.
But something from beyond the blackened ether of midnight skies and space dust tells me to keep trying.

Letting go
Of something you love
Is like letting  go a rubber band
And you're holding it
from both ends
long time no poem
Oxytocin Sep 2015
Going through a time
Where being myself
Feels like a crime

Insecure about who I am
About the way I walk
Feeling like a hologram
Not able to talk

Think I need a new personality
Something more likable
A someone with more functionality
And a person more reliable

Waiting for the day
To feel like a somebody
Keep these feelings at bay
And live a life like everybody
I'm exhausted and sad and this took me ten minutes. Sorry.
Oxytocin Aug 2015
Ambitious and cheerful
She smiles
And fills our days
With giggles
And contagious laughter

But as you look into her eyes
Her beautiful brown eyes
empty
A bird stripped from its wings
Yearning to be free
Free from all the sorrows
Sorrows of today
And maybe of tomorrow

She's a warrior
Who never gives up
A sonnet
Beautiful and graceful
A diamond in the rough
Waiting for the perfect time to shine

She's my inspiration
My reason to look forward to the day
My partner in crime
My **best friend
I love you H ❤
Oxytocin Aug 2015
Swollen eyes
Tear stained cheeks
A dusty mirror
And a beating heart
Pinching my thighs and muffin top
Fat
Ugly
Unlovable
These words haunting me

Wishing
Wishing to unzip this skin
And emerge as thin
Beautiful
Lovable

My head feels dizzy
Hearts starts to race
Warm tears streaming down my face
Smash
The mirror is in pieces
Hands are bleeding
Heart still beating
A reflection
That cannot be fixed
This is how I feel almost all the time

you are both
the art
& the artist
every move you make
is painted in color

you are both
the poem
& the poet
you speak
in ballads

inspired & inspirational
motivated & motivational

you have purpose
you have drive
you're not scared
you strive

that fire in your soul
the spark in your eyes
enough to set the world ablaze
a mind bound by no limits
a body willing to test new parameters

untethered
never going to surrender

philosophy makes up your very being
your words deserve to be written in volumes
you are
inches away from touching the stars
i suspect you were made of stardust
invaluable, irreplaceable, shining in the night sky

you belong to a different era
& you're not afraid to speak the ancient language
you are from both the future and the past
at the same time
inside you are both fireworks and candlelights
you are a greek statue in a museum
you are a sultan in the ottoman empire

you are both the soldier
and the war
all at once

you
are
a
wonder
& never will I
be able to fathom
the fact that
you
are
*mine
// i'd probably still adore you with your hands around my neck //
written about someone who means a lot to me x
