do you think it's a coincidence
that falling asleep
and falling in love
both start with falling
and end with you?
a short one today.

I can't remember. I'm sorry.

just pull lightly and slowly
on the thread, it’s satisfying
to feel the unraveling - thoughts
flow like a lazy river, slowly pulling us
along - the threads of our covering
disappear as we swim, bound
by the shorelines, loosed
in a current between

On a Wednesday morning, clear and calm,
                     I went to Astor Place
and had a gypsy read my palm
                     or maybe just my face.

She said my heart was heavy
and my head was stuffed with lies.
But things like that weren't on my hand,
                     they hid behind my eyes.

The room is dull and dank and cold but at
least I have a hand to hold.

maybe i wasn't meant to be a poet.

           even my wrong,
doesn't have the beauty to be right.
sometimes i feel completely empty. when i can't write, i feel as if i am missing a limb. today was one of those days.

our house will be big enough
to hold our two hearts
and the love that beats out of them
the walls will be filled with the words
i wrote to you
and all the times you told me ‘i love you’
in our kitchen
i'll save the recipes
to make you laugh
to make you smile
to make you forget your troubles
our bookshelves will be filled with poetry and flowers
our house will have a garden
where hope will grow wild
and every time i choose you
a flower will bloom

I want to wake up to a world
where "what do you do for a living?"
comes with "I just live" reply.
Living. Not just surviving.
