You can pretend
That the black gloss
On my lashes
Will glue my eyes shut-
Make me blind to truth;
To ‘true knowledge.’
Go ahead.
Tell yourself
That my red-painted lips
Only spout nonsense.
It will only make it sweeter
When my wing-lined eyes
Give you whiplash
as I walk past you
To get my degree;
My award;
My paycheck.
Maybe if you’re ‘nice’
I’ll buy you an ice pack.

it's either you hurt the people who are closest to you,
or they hurt you

but the funny part is
most of the time
you just hurt yourself

I saw her on a bench
She held a book in her arms
And a pen in her hand
She brandish her pen like the waves on a sea
The ink from the pen was blue as the sky
When her pen touches the paper
Her eyes begin to shine like stars
She loves poetry
Treated the words like jewerly
When she look deep into my eyes
I felt that she wrote a poem
Deep inside my heart.

I am sorry that I am unable to speak

with the eloquence that can paint pictures and move mountains

but instead my words trip over one another or get lost
once they leave my lips

so I’ve chosen to stay silent

because it is easier to bear than fumbled words and mumbled apologies.

I diverged
From the foreseen path most follow--
The route adhered to avert one's fears
Instead, I boldly strayed into the uncharted
Inquiring answers to what ifs and the unclear

The sea is still today
It's cerulean blue and gold
I think of the thoughts it carries
Within its hidden folds.
Its touch is soft and gentle
It soothes the ache of years
But I wonder how many waves
Are made from fallen tears.

Who cares? I'm colorblind
So a light in a box
To me just means go

at the edge of the world,
desperate to be brought in
to the warmth of the pack.

but when invited,
declines politely.
preferring to sulk in solitude,
and wonder,
why aren't i good enough
to be a part of the group.
