Isn't it funny, how just hearing
his name makes you smile?
You feel like the blood pumping
from your heart could flow a while.
You are clear-headed
once given his advice,
He holds the power to transform
This daily purgatory to paradise.
He will make the world stop turning
on the first beat of your command,
He is the final piece to the puzzle
you before couldnt understand.
He completes the picture
You envisioned for your life
Beautiful despite the ongoing
Suffering, stress, and strife.
He has an extraordinary gift
One so special and rare,
The magic ability to capture
Your entire heart with just a stare.
He knows he could hurt you but wouldn't,
By doing you wrong or pushing you away,
It's obvious how captivated you are
By the spell he casts on you every day.
The bond between your two hearts
Is so strong it will never sever,
He is the one you love, and will continue to,
Long after forever and ever.
This was an old free verse poem I turned into a rhyme. I didn't like how it sounded before but now it's pretty legit.

She Writes
You said love is fleeting.
That we should be happy
For the time we had
When we had it.

You saw us as a grain of sand,
While I saw us as the hourglass.

You said love never lasts.
That the hottest
and brightest flame
Burns the fastest.

You saw us as a firework,
While I saw us as the sun.

Unique

Unique
maybe tomorrow i'll run away
to a city i've never seen
and play music i've never heard

maybe i'll meet a boy
who has no destination in mind,
but a plan to go anywhere but home

maybe we'll hold hands
and cross oceans together
never a word spoken between us
but an understanding of the wonder at hand

maybe we'll hike mountains
and scream our lungs out at the top
open our arms and hear our echoes
through the vast plains upon us

maybe one day we'll be treading through the snow
with frost bite noses and persisting hearts
he'll look at me and without saying a word
i'll know, this was his home all along

If the beautiful ones aren't yet born,
Who are these beautiful ones,
What are they doing here?
Are they going to be able to share,
where will they come from,
will any of them go to the prom?

When these beautiful ones come,
will they live in a normal home,
What will they look like,
will they ever go to church,
or be able to work,
or get in the kitchen and cook,
Will they eat with a fork,
love music,
and act classic?

Will they admit to being wrong
and afterward, sing a song?
Will they be happier,
Will their butts be bigger,
will their eyes be prettier,
will their strides be better,
will their skins be smoother?

Will they be able to forgive?
or look at others and wave,
where will they live,
will they learn to drive,
Are they going to behave,
will they ever get married,
or ever be happy,
or say the word sorry?
will they act like ladies
and be proud or their beauties,
or will they have babies
and tell them stories?

When will it happen,
will they love men,
or mess with women,
How long will it take?
Will they be able to bake,
will they love mommy,
or smile for daddy,
who will those lucky parents be,
will they Meet them to drink tea?

If the beautiful ones aren't yet born?
what's taking them so long,
what will they look like,
what will their voices sound like,
will they ever go to church,
or be able to work,
or read the Holy Bible,
will they embrace the hustle,
or live amongst the people?

The beautiful ones are like tomorrow, they might never come.

~
Hold my hand and persuade the way
tell me all you want to say
~
Whisper softly in my ear,
all those things I want to hear
~
Kiss my lips and touch my skin
bring out passions deep within
~
Draw me close and hold me near
eradicate my pain and fear
~
In the darkness of the night,
shine your beacon, be my light
~
In the luster of the sun,
demonstrate you are the one
~
Offer me wings so I can fly
and I will soar when you're nearby
~
Infilrate my heart, break the wall,
it's time for me to let it fall
~
I've been a prisoner, extensively
Break my chains and set me free
~
Strip me of my armor tight
this time I won't put up a fight
~
Release my soul held deep within
For you’re in my heart where love begins

I See Her
 Mar 2018 Aflaha
zebra
i see her
and my shadow grows
gold like Harlows hair

then to
black
like a digested sun
and the music of a gnawing universe
with whelping teeth
and melting white candles
gets me dancing
like a dragging needle
through grieving flesh

she droops
like a thick cloud
bending towards me
a sky in flames
in a torn dress

and her kisses whip through me
like wind through mists

I love you in shades of orange and red
Passion burning like a flame
In my heart a wildfire spreads
Impossible to tame
I felt like writing something short and sweet.

"She was an
unusual dresser.
Every night,
she wore bruises
on her heart,
love on her lips,
pain in her eyes,
and ink on her fingers.
They called her poetry."

There is no madness
Darker farther
Than the depths
Of losing a daughter
I sit now praying
Her soul is
In heaven
And everyday
Is peace and warmth
And how I mourn
Her memory
Study her every feature
And how I
Wish to be again
Her father
And kiss her forehead
Tell her I love her
But grace is fallow
And nature cruel
And bad things
Can happen I knew
But I was only
Thinking that
The very day
You skinned your
Knee biking
I never knew
I'd be forever
Cursed to dream
Without you
I am sorry I did not attach this note sooner. My daughter passed years ago. This poem was written on one of those times I have to revisit that pain. I did not intend to mislead anyone.
