You are toxic.
You are the words unspoken.
You were the missing questions.
You were the extra five minutes in my routine.
You were the extra glance in the mirror.
You were the no-good thought then.
You became the after-thought now.

I scream to the stars above
"What do you want from me?!"
The wind picks up
Stealing what little breath I hold
Sleeping flowers awaken,
only to find that rain season has just begun
The rain comes from my eyes
I curse your moonbeam eyes
That once danced in front of mine
And in comes the sun
Burning where you once held me
And suddenly... peace.

I thought your lips
created a home on mine
But a home is not a home
when you abandon it.

And then autumn came
and it was her time
to shake the weight she bore
just as the trees did.
