I taste
the summer's end
with a rainstorm - in time
grace embraces these dampened fields
as dew

To everyone
and someone
climbing a mountain,
you and I - you
carry the spark
we need, you forgot
you have - you need
the tinder I carry,
the fuel - we need
each other
at the summit, warming
the glow of the fire
we build, laughing
like children -
while thoughts
drift away as snow
covering battlefields
we forgot -
we won

in the catwalks, high above

this city, sleeping

in the parapets, twisting

through darkened fire

escapes to stars, lost

in this complex maze

the architects left

behind - hope

runs out of the arteries

of their dreams

His love
is the winter
solstice, mounting
the top of her world
where
her love
is the summer
equinox, embracing

darkened soul

In my darkest days, I held you beneath my warmth.
You indulged me with your feverish hunger.
You embraced me with your piercing emotions.
You were immune to my changeable disease.

I came to a realization that you were my muse,
the best rainbow I received……….

You told me that I was part of your soul.
To me you’re the fuel to my rusty engine,
The energy to my thirsty being,
And the light of my darkened soul.

She cries late
                  every night
     Turns off all the
                           lights
         Sits in bed
bawls
             her eyes out
      in the dark
Cutting out pieces
      of her heart
No one can see
                          the scars
           of her sewing
back up her chest
       Soon she will be
             an empty shell
        Hopefully
                    putting her soul to rest
If her heart
                    is no longer there
It can't get broken,
              right?
If no one can see
                          the tears
Then she never cried,
                     right?

Wonder

You wonder
why I wiggle
so much
why my legs
bounce,
and my hands
twitch.
Truth is,
my mind
can't slow down
It doesn't know
how to take a day off,
its far too good
at tormenting me
more and more
with each
passing second.

Difficult.

If hers is a long and lonely climb
Atop her distant perch,
His then was a lengthy trek
Across the endless earth.
Inspired by sunshine and Nickelcreek. Always means always.
