Poet X
I swear I’m not a love poet but

loving you
makes me scared of dying .

I know what it’s all about now,
I get why the sun rises
and the moon sets.
I understand why the stars shine
and the birds chirp.
I get why the heart beats
and the lungs breathe.

I get it now,
why I’m alive.
loving you is the only thing I feel good at .

I remember the evening
that we sat clinging
to paper cups
of coffee gone cold

over secrets spilled and memories told
two bodies cursed
with hearts grown old

behind your eyes
I found new worlds
A winding road stretched out for miles
to a small cafe at the end of the isle

Sweet pastries filled the mouths
of those who sat beside us
and stayed for a while.

How the hours went by,
people just passing through
The descending sun ending
a forever with you.

The sun light shining through my window but only enough to welcome me to the day. The birds are chirping only waiting for me to rise from my bed, stretch, and meditate for a minute or two. The wafting smell of coffee beans and oatmeal fill my senses as I stroll into the kitchen, but half asleep. The blue sky or maybe grey will greet me as I slide the window open to great the morning air, one with the residue of last nights rain. The morning walkers quickly walk past my window only having a conversation of their own with a friend or a lover. The 5 am shift started and the 6 am is soon to be, the cars cruising past. The children at play before breakfast is served, sidewalk chalk and a box of matchsticks, mom said never to play with. The day looks inviting, may I join?

Burning together at a distance
like brightly lit stars.

Close enough to be in orbit,
safe from consumption when we're this far.

But what if just once,
we crossed the vast distance?

Making almost a reality,
I'd let nervous fingertips trace along fantasy.

You'd let me discover
all the secrets to your universe.

I'll remain your dance partner,
as we circle from afar.

I'll be the night sky you howl at
always wanting more.

I guess they love you
Because all the poems I’ve written are
About you

I guess they love you
Because every single love song I hear
Describes  you

I guess they love you
Because In every passing face
I see you

I guess they love you
And I’m not quite sure if all the writers and poets fell in love before
With you

There is the belief
(Standing for centuries)
Of those colors seeming
To appear in vistas found
In this and that place..
In this season..perhaps
We might Recognize
Real joy comes from
Dissolving the distances
And simply allowing
The rise of the colors
In our Openness...
I’m lost amidst the closets of curiosities,
Trapped within the fibres of a page.
Desperately humming lackluster songs of
Redemption.

Straining my eyes to see into the dark,
Scanning subconscious horizons in search
Of the rocky cove where the sun will be.
Reborn.

My fingers are bleeding from trying to grasp.
The peonies and gardenias in my skull,
Losing my grip on the garden in my mind.
Shrieking.

Obscure obscenities as the angels stand and
Stare. Nonconformity has eternally failed me.
Garden nymphs move their wooden mouths.
Whispering.

Songs of sorrow and the skies.
Constructing.
Oddly-shaped windows of eternal insignificance.
Have you ever been so lonely that you felt quite close to
tears
And your thoughts went racing backwards to the happy by gone
years
To the days when you were twenty, fit and sprightly and
care free
And no challenge seemed too daunting you'd try climb the
highest tree? .

Have you ever felt nostalgic and your thoughts went far away
To the school yard in the lunch hour where you used to romp
and play
With your school friends from the old days have you wondered
where are they
Have they too grown slow and settled do they show their
years in grey? .

Have you ever been in a bar room on a night out with the
boys
Felt the lilt of drunk man's laughter an intrusive sort of
noise
And a sudden rush of sadness bring the teardrops to your
eyes
And you go off to the toilet where your feelings you disguise.

And back home you think about it in the peace and in the
quiet
Whilst the others were so happy I felt down a bit tonight
And you feel you'd one too many and you blame it on the beer
But you've often drunk more liquor and tonight your thoughts
were clear.

Have you ever at house party asked yourself what brought me
here
And you feel obliged to linger though you'd like to
disappear
And the people seem so friendly but you still feel out of
place
And you get the strangest feeling your's is not a welcome
face? .

Have you ever on the train home after working hard all day
Felt your effort has been wasted and at home you ought to
stay
Whilst the boss drives new mercedes you must struggle all
the way
And about that man you work for you don't have good word to
say? .

Have you ever felt your best friend really not your friend
at all
Why he often pass your house by and he seldom ever call
Except when he is after something and for him there is some
gain
And though he claim you are his best friend in your heart
the doubt remain? .

Have you ever been in the company of a humorous sort of
bloke
And there were peals of laughter when he cracked a funny
joke
But the punch line seemed to slip you it went way above your
head
And you were left to wonder why they laughed at what he'd
said? .

Have you ever watched a young man kiss his girlfriend on the
street
And you thought him a bit cheeky felt he ought be more
discreet
But you silently were wishing he were you and you were he
And your feelings on the matter only sprung from jealousy? .

Did you ever meet young lady and she smiled and looked your
way
And your ego felt inflated she had helped to make your day
Till you realized much later for you she could never fall
She was just a friendly stranger and no feelings there at
all? .

All these sort of situations you will meet along life's way
And this game of life and living is no easy game to play
In a simple situation a great challenge we can see
And this thing called human feelings is too big a thing for
me.

.
We converse without words...
Just shudders and crests of bated breaths.
Tingles that resonate between echoing beats.

We speak without voice...
Just deep gazes that peer endless into bottomless eyes.
Subtle blinks that freeze the ticks of relentless hands.

We talk without sounds...
Just slight quivers between parted lips.
Holding the other captive in a gentle clasp.

We part with no farewell...
Just two wilful wisps darting on separate courses.
Knowing that paths that meander may someday converge.
