AS TRUMP HAS STATED
TRADE IS THE BEST
BUT TRUMP TRUMPS TRADE
WHEN KOREA WILL TEST

JAPAN HAS SENT A
REALLY HUGE BOAT
TO ASSIST THE AMERICANS
TO ALL STAY AFLOAT

LETS HOPE KOREA DECIDES
TO SIT DOWN AND CHAT
OR OUR WORLD WILL BE AT WAR
AND THAT IS THAT
PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS STATED THAT TRADE IS IMPORTANT BUT NORTH KOREA TRUMPS TRADE

A minute for a dollar, a second for a dime.
I execute it all for pay.
My daily trade is killing time.

I slice the day up like a lime
in sections green and silver-gray.
A minute for a dollar, a second for a dime.

I'm practiced in this pantomime,
proficient, quite au fait.
My daily trade is killing time.

Like a hit man in his prime
I knock off the hours of the day.
A minute for a dollar, a second for a dime.

Yet killing here is not a crime;
it's merely the established way.
My daily trade is killing time.

No. killing here is not a crime;
it's the toll road through this fray.
A minute for a dollar, a second for a dime.
My daily trade is killing time.
As a person who likes to stay busy, I hated it when, after 16 years as Audit Director at a university, I was transferred to Assistant Controller working for a person who truly earned her title as "Controller". Since the decision had not been hers, she resented it (as close as I can figure, anyway) so she held back on assigning me work or letting me do work, even when she talked about being swamped. Also it was a large office and I couldn't help but notice a lot of "goofing off". The situation was grist for the mill for this poem...and luckily didn't last long. I left and went in a whole new direction and have been my own boss ever since. :-)

What I have is a pitch
angled at nothing
and I envy the limber crowd of bees,
and I envy the spider’s easy meal.

The low hum of a wash cycle
competes with, then dislodges my dirge,
gradually builds a golden,
natural looking wan expression.

content to accept the indifference of meaning.

Writing has become difficult
Because my emotions have settled
Why is it that we write better
When we are sad and betrayed
Or falling in love
Our heart filled with so much

For us that are in the middle
We are torn apart
what emotions really stand out
It's almost like being numb
I'll sacrifice my writing though
A smile is what I want
When her grandeur legally mine
well she's not as Lakshmi:

     her dream ardently admire
her white sands tenable with feng shui.

And she sing so locutionary
though orient exclaim larger than life
but she move ahead as her queen:

she's in a slightly slinky silk dress
she's more than her picture tonight

     it's fantasy in her life
     it's all about romance too
     it's practical again & again
     it's polite oft let bequeath
     it's crucible demand Eros

then belie someone in her quest
with ideas that suggest outcome made:

     her civilization grow
     her factory of preparedness wrought
     her plan of platitude forthright!

So each day we trade our lives with time,
To learn new ways to spend them wise
And in return time turns our hair white,
And takes back that spark left in our eyes
