While,
Perceiving the taste of yesterday's forgotten sandwich.
I, soon feel the caress of my fingers subsiding the itch for a ***.

With tears of penitence.
I, recall the woman I've romanticized other than you.
Yet,
Content with passion they had shed onto me.

I made her a sandwich today.
Women make the best sandwiches.
Don’t let any man tell you any other way.
Mom your crazy, she took it and ran.
She is right
But I don’t see her father making sure both sides have jam.

I saw a beggar pass me by today
On my way to catch a train
I offered him a sandwich
"No" he said in pain

"Sir, just take it there is no need to pay"
But my offer fell in vain
"I need you to consume it"
I held out my chain

He seemed to move closer
But turned his head away

"Do you want it, use your words for god's sake!"
I said hoping to provoke
"Speak an answer, yes or no?"
I hoped to invoke

"I am offering you something you want"
This must be a twisted joke
"Please I want you to take it"
Suddenly he spoke

With a long, searing stare
He licked his lips and said,

"It holds no matter what I desire"
His eyes peered into my heart
"I-I do not look through rose tint"
He shattered apart

"If you saw in my eyes the memories"
His list stopped before the start
"And you know not what I want"
That phrase, simple art

He calmed down a little
And I decided to say:

"You want to be fed, I know this is true,
You cannot remove a past attached to you,
So, please eat and enjoy life"

He hesitated and decided
Then said: "Your train has arrived"

And he faded away
I told this from the perspective of a friend

The café named a sandwich after me,
"World's greatest doormat", prithee,
A people-pleasing syncophant, you see,
So, here's the new sandwich for thee,
"The world's greatest doormat", just like me!
Feedback welcome.

I recall the succulent
All Day Breakfast Sandwich
With its delicious twin slices
Of pure white bread,
Infused with Heize baked bean juice,
Cushioning the crisp smoked
Sweet cured bacon,
Nestled against the bite
Of pork chipolatas
And the soft free range
Hard boiled eggs,
All seasoned with sea salt
Black pepper
Tomato sauce
Dijon mustard and
Mayonnaise.
And now sustaining me
All Day.
So good. Not the poem. The sandwich.

A child, not of speaking age, sat
across me at tea time. The mother
fed her cake and cucumber
sandwiches, and the young girl
screeched with
                            a sour face

staring at me as if I held the solution
to erasing the taste of sweets and crunchy water.
I feigned a smile.
It occurred to me that even as old as she was,
she had opinions on things she would forget. No one
remembers not liking cucumbers that young.

There's half a sandwich in my baggie,
I run with it around the playground and
I'm getting weird looks because..
I'm 23
and somehow I find it much more amusing than nerve wracking
because when I wrack my brain to find answers
all I can think about is running around
my old elementary school play ground.
Maybe just maybe that's why I laugh like santa who had just finished
his rounds for he year and
maybe I laugh like a man that just won a billion dollars,
because I know when I go back to work the next day
I know I cannot laugh this loud
so loud I shed tears of joy, no
when I go back I will shed tears of boredom if there is such a thing.
Sitting at a desk is killing me, but I guess in the end
I've been dying all along.
"Sit quietly at your desk until the bell rings"
"Ask before you use the restroom"
"Finish every thing on your recycled tray"
Well let me tell you there are none such rules on the play ground
I can run and scream, and
I can finish the other half of this sandwich
when I **** well want to.
