When the sky was black and the earth was white,
your silhouette was the focus of my sight.
I walked closer, to where you were under
A trademark of romance, oh! it shocked my heart like thunder.
Warmth among the cold snow
Your face and it's beautiful glow
It was there that our lips met
a kiss not of love
but to bid me farewell
Under the mistletoe, I wished for us to grow
but it was "us", the present that you chose to throw
Merry Christmas Y'all!

This is how it starts,
A coincidental kiss–
And where it must end.
not all stories are love stories. and not all live stories are fairytales.

I strung mistletoe,
On every bough,
And waited patiently,
For you.
But you were the only one,
Who never showed up.

Christmas is near
I'm thinking of you
My love our life's
So special together
Forever our hearts warm
By the Christmas fire
Our love pure together
I hold you under
The Mistletoe we kiss
We embrace
In a passionate kiss
Our hearts smiling together
Christmas bells ringing
Our love is singing
It's Christmas time
And no better
Place to be is truly
With you under
The Christmas Mistletoe.

Under The Mistletoe
Amanda Dec 2015
So,
there we were under december lights and burnt out matchsticks,

looking like we've fallen in love tonight.

It was all eyelashes and hastiness drawn out.
You braided secrets & warm murmurs into my hair;
then a smirk into my left shoulder blade.

Your lips tasted like something,
someone

I wanted more of.
Oops?
A little cheekier than usual?
;
A very merry christmas, sunshines.

Fireworks and lights
lovers staring into dark starry nights
children dream of Santa and snow
music playing and couples dancing slow

all the music
all the joy
christian rhymes and cold fills the air

it's Christmas time
cold all the night,
snow flakes flying
snow men melting

i believe in father Christmas
i believe in fairy tales
i love singing mistletoe
and opening presents

its cold and i'm feeling sleepy
i know i'll wake with a smile
and i wish you a merry Christmas
and a wondrous new year

it's incredible
how i stopped wishing
that somehow
we'd get caught under a mistletoe
i actually don't know if this sounds more like a happy poem or a sad poem... i guess it is up to you
Christmas is traditions
some last and others die
some leave you feeling fuzzy
others leave you asking "Why?"
There's rules that must be followed
And most of them we know
About gifts and cards and Christmas trees
and then there's mistletoe....

We all know the tradition
We all know what it is
You meet under the berries
And then you both must kiss
But, there's etiquette surrounding
The dreaded mistletoe
And there are things you aren't aware of
And I thought you all should know....

Always kiss your Aunties
Do it quick and on the cheek
Their lips are full of slobber
and sometimes they just reek

Grandmas, get a quick kiss
And ignore the sounds they make
Don't hug Grannies too tightly
They are brittle and might break

Avoid the pervert Uncles
With hands and eyes that roam
They act one way at Christmas
And another way at home

The little kids, won't kiss you
So, it's fun to give them chase
Make sure there's lots of slobber
So, they can wipe it off their face

Make sure kissing Grandad
That he has got his teeth
That they're not somewhere  in a glass
or worse, smiling from a wreath

Always kiss your Mum though
Beware, Mums will always cry
and they will get you going too
No matter how hard you try

Kiss the one you came with
Let them know just how you feel
That your love for them's eternal
And your love for them is real

Kissing is tradition
and at Christmas can be great
But, don't kiss all the women
And forget about your date

The most important rule of all
If you don't want your bell rung
When kissing 'neath the mistletoe
DO NOT USE THE TONGUE

Being kissed under the mistletoe?
Such a cliché
...but God I really wish it would happen somehow
I don't even care anymore if that makes me pathetic.
Another xmas boyfriendless :/ I know, I know, it doesn't matter I'll find him one day I'm still young etc. I just wish it, that's all.
