An experience before I,
One must at least try.
So I may die
Then All shall fly.
Because action without tact
Is an act masked in fact;
Your sight seen as cracked
And the blind will always react.
An experience before I,
As within we incide the tie
With out the mutiny of I
The self will multiply.
Transparent the self must be
Then All is seen as Thee.
When light has pierced your three
The experience before I is set free.

Ego
Feed on your ego, gorge on your pride
till you swell all up inside
You'll be like an over filled balloon
But very very soon.........

Someone will take the sharp tip of truth, pop the bubble you live in
Because all your bolstering and self praise is a very deadly sin

Click, click… how many ‘likes’ have I got?
Does it really matter when the day is done?
How long can it inflate my ego?
How big a number will it take?

Is it not better, that I be not bitter
If I get just one ‘like’?
Is it not better, if the one ‘like’ I get
is moved for the better?

Everyday* I feel like breaking something
A misconception, a false perception
Arguments lasting hours and days
Egos clashing in all it’s ways
I try to keep quiet, I try to stay calm
Little do they know that silence is a balm
I try to leave with permission, as am taught
But that’s not possible because as usual
**I am always wrong

Everybody told me
You think only of yourself.
There’s no room in your heart
For anybody else.
But just like every fool
Ever born or ever was.
I had to find out for myself
Because, just because.

Lipstick on the mirror
Gave the whole thing away.
I didn’t really understand
Until I woke up that day.
You only love yourself it seems
And I just didn’t see before.
There’s room in your life for you
And no room for one more.

I began to notice how difficult
It was to walk down the boulevard.
You kept looking into the windows
And seemed to be looking hard.
At first what you were looking at
Managed to escape my detection.
After I while I realized the truth.
You were looking at your reflection.

I knew you would not go outside
If your hair was not done quite right.
To try to say it was good enough
Was to encourage another fight.
Every detail of clothing must be
Perfection all the way through
That meant I had to be perfect
As I was an extension of you.

Lipstick on the mirror
Gave the whole thing away.
I didn’t really understand
Until I woke up that day.
You only love yourself it seems
And I just didn’t see before.
There’s room in your life for you
And no room for one more.

Now I look at the photographs
You have kept in a scrapbook.
I see that you have the ones of you
When you like the way you look.
The pictures of me are there
But only if you are also in the shot.
It’s easy to see that you matter
And easier to see I do not.

Lipstick on the mirror
Gave the whole thing away.
I didn’t really understand
Until I woke up that day.
You only love yourself it seems
And I just didn’t see before.
There’s room in your life for you
And no room for one more.

You people don't appreciate me enough.
I mean my very presence should be a welcomed blessing
in the midst of your pathetic lives,
and my unmistakable genius.
Whilst I am forced into such close proximity to your kind,
who couldn't ever measure up to these high standards of mine.

You mock me and speak harshly of me.
But now it is a fact that indeed you are all just jealous and hateful,
strongly wishing you were the meticulous being that I am.
All my charitable deeds go to waste and so what more can I say?
I am perfection and therefore, man must dislike what they can not have.

Yet, as it is, I can still walk with an air of grace and dignity,
my head quite high
A true sign of an individual worthy of much acknowledgement.
We might know someone like this...

The smoke ring reminded me
Of the circus, a blue ring of fire
To jump through
With my oversized shoes.

Watering the vegetable garden
Created a sun-split rainbow
Landing on the sprouting treasures.

Driving past the golf course,
The arc of the ball reminded me of the sun,
Transcepting the sky,
Not knowing where it lands.

The dawn brings forth a choir
Of tree singers,
Calling to one another,
Acknowledging the symphony
Of different needs.

It's blooming perfect
Outside my head,
Where shortcomings
Are draped in green and blue;
So, I will think outside
Brain and skull;
I will get outside,
Outside, and cuddle
The raw simplicity.

There are so many traps
to the self
Always
something to measure
someone to put
down

It's all insecurity.

You can't shake the feeling that
it matters
But it's all so ******
the news stories
Facebook friends
television
3 million people together in
a city
And
you keep thinking you're
out
until you get caught
(tunnel vision or whatever)

out
shopping for groceries
and someone looks
at you
or suddenly
a hot pair of leggings
is picking out
grapefruits

and you failed again.

i see that
smile
but separate from my lips

i see those
tears
but not of my eyes

and that
sweat
from brows

not mine
but the voices
pretending to be me

i am perturbed of
the two voices
in my head
so sure of themselves
of where i should go

i tried one way
thought i could
have what i want
resulted in how
the other said i'd be

i went the other way
unable to go fully
and i could not
identify myself
apart from them
