The violence, the cruelty, the ignorance,
Is this really what’s become of the human race?
Pain, drugs, belligerence,
The kids’ childhoods are gone,
Did they even exist?
Their parents’ lives are done,
Due to drugs and violence.
Must their lives suffer, too?
Must they grow up this way?
All these things that are taboo,
Why can’t they just go away?
There’s a tolerance for stupidity,
A lack of logical thinking.
People all around, just sitting.
Our economies are sinking.
As the crime rate grows,
The number of deaths do, too.
The soldiers are all fighting,
A war that never ends.
Quick! Just hit the lighting,
Camera ready? Let’s begin.
It’ll be a movie about reality,
The real one, not the fake.
A lesson on morality,
The laws our people break.
And as you sit down watching,
I hope you stop to think,
About the tears that shouldn’t be shed,
And the blood going down the sink,
From the people who shouldn’t have bled.
Why are people turning on people?
Why are kin abandoning kin?
No one gets left behind!
Did that get tossed out to the bin?
You must be loyal, you must stand strong,
And when your back’s against the wall,
You must continue fighting!
Catch each other when you fall!
We want equality for everyone,
Not just the privileged few!
You want us to be happy?
I’ll give you a little clue.
Treat humans like they’re humans,
And give respect where it is due.
I’ll keep trying to save this world,
I hope that everyone else will, too.

Deceit, my throne
Agony, my crown
Within an ocean of tears, the silent man drowns
Pain so clear, across this grim façade
Life serene, cut so close, by this paper god
This seed of market and stock, supply and demand
The story of capitalism written by greed’s melancholy hand
A story so sad, imbued with regret
Consumerism the tragedy- heresy is debt

You strip and scream in the pillow of your king size bed.
Something about life being too hard
or your girlfriend's unfaithfulness.
Somoene's outside your door
or maybe under the tree.
They know what their future is
and their prospects are bleak.
'I don't want to eat because I am so depressed. '
Well, how about handing over that food to someone who has been going hungry to bed.
You are never thankful for what you have.
Let's solve this without any animosity
We all have days which are bad.

I have seen the citylights
I have seen the people cringe with the pain
You and I know that this system is to be blamed.
It's time that the government has shown their true face.
Those schemes are probably gonna fail.

Unclean water, improper waste disposal
it's time we return back to our own morals.
I don't mean to be abrasive
but it's time we face it.
The rich are getting richer
watching poor men die
You get the picture
Divided by an imaginary line.

Some charities are a scam
'Please help us fund the education of the kids affected by the floods.
We have no proof where the money goes.
Our logic is ******.
'

Traffic lights changing colours
Wait?  Did someone break that one again?
That's a ******
No one knows where they are going
as long as the cash is flowing
So many around the world starve to death
'What the hell did you put in this lasagna? A rotten egg?'

Your emotional security us important
and so is your money.
You can enjoy as many luxuries
but remember to think of the less fortunate.

Snarling words, biting and dark
Bark and leap at the gate
Demanding to be set free
In hoards and clouds like locusts.

First they are placated by gestures upon keys
Performed by compelled fingertips.
Pixel-by-pixel, the screen is slowly darkened
Black against glowing white
As more and more are released
And they squeeze in to all the spaces
Blackening all until the there is no more light.

Then to runes upon the pristine innocence of white crisp paper
Their only resistance, the tip of the dragging pen.
Still they come like insects,
Thick and tumbling over one another
To stain the pulpy fibres wet with thick, sticky liquid
Dispensed by the rolling steel ball
Until all is encrusted with the dried ink.

With all words unleashed
There is no end.
There was more
With fewer.

I've been listening to a lot of new music lately
I just let the online radio go while I search for jobs
much more intensively than I had in the past
I used to think I was such hot **** with my MA
An MA degree, a ***** f’ing MA!
But now I know it’s all a crock *** of bull testicles
My generation was so brainwashed into thinking we could be whatever we wanted

The thought of me not accomplishing what I ought to
used to make me lay in bed and slump
but now I’m searching for any better thing so wholeheartedly
I realized a truth in this economy:
if you don’t know anybody
you’re best luck comes from quantity
something will hit
and if it doesn't
I've been listening to a lot of new music lately

Playing much less of my own music
as in hardly enough time to put a guitar or mando in my hand to jam
I’m on these job boards if I’m not sleeping, out with friends,
or working a **** job to be out with friends

Some say be happy you got a job at all
and if you really wanted something different
you wouldn't go out at all
you’d just sit at home looking for a job

That thought terrifies me cause
for those who don’t ever sacrifice their search for potential work
for the intermediary wants in life
they get sick quicker than expected and die

At least they always listened to new music lately

Will this be the summer of our discontent
Or must we wait for more to understand
The dusty red and blue have merged
Whilst grasped in business' firm hand
The last of the lavender party politicians
The dawn of an enlightened age
Brought about by peaceful demonstration
Compassion replacing our rage
It's time rise and unite,
Time to balance the books
Time to listen to Chomsky
Time to trial the real crooks
Time to understand the state
Sees you as the enemy
it's generous, docile tax cow
Time for the remedy
A positive equal future awaits
Regardless of colour, age or gender
A resource based economy
Without need for ****** splendour
Sure,  it won't happen overnight
And Rome was not  built in a day
But today is the day to begin the fight
Leading our children to a better way
A way of life,  not slaves for rent
A devotion to knowledge and peace
A disposal of our disposable lives
Where we all are the same chess piece

The old man living next door to my rented shoebox

told me that the hospitals are slowly draining the humanity from the city

and that the country is just animality rationality fictionality

and that at least when there was a king, everyone had food.

now his wife can’t pick things up because her hands hurt

so she throws things

constantly

and at least in India, he knew where he stood.
