letters to basil Apr 2021
dear basil,

happy easter :))
just one more year
dealing with your parent's
religious *******

don't get too mad
it's like that hypnosis said
"if it is anything negative
you will physically and emotionally feel nothing
it will be like watching a movie
and if it is effecting you in this life
you will be able to see it, and let it go"

of course, he was talking about
past life regression

but this is really just a past life waiting to happen

love,
basil
important note!! i don't hate religion or religious ppl, you guys can be great :)) however, my parents are a little,,, stricter abt it and it's caused a lot of tension uwu

but happy easter !! have fun and don't stay mad <3

when we sit in the shade
from the burning sun on the
autumn afternoon, listening
to the children hunt for eggs,
all i can think is that you all
belong here.

i am the imposter, i can feel that they know. your jokes are all funny and i can't find the energy to laugh.

i don't want to be here, i hate 'family lunch'es, i hate pretending to be alright when i just want to sit in my room, alone.

family is always priority for me,
but i cannot place them in my life.
so we sit, laughing with all your loved ones,
and i pretend not to feel alone.
i dont think i'll see 2022 if things carry on this way.

He is risen,
stone rolled away from tomb
He is risen,
death no had longer it's rule
He is risen,
above it all, above the doom

The Lord Jesus is risen.
Seven Things Spoken

Seven things spoken,
three words for completion,
silence, then a cracking earth
and a temple veil torn in two.

Tony Tweedy Apr 2021
In a foreign land,
over two thousand years ago,
there lived a man,
whom the world would come to know.

Raised out of Nazareth,
his humble place of birth,
tasked with spreading words of love,
and of peace throughout the Earth.

Many were his deeds,
and so timeless and true his word,
that he changed the shape of the world,
for those who saw and heard.

He challenged the authority,
of those who then held sway,
by telling common people that through his Father,
there lay a better way.

Challenged by his word,
and fearing influence on the wane,
by deceit and lie,
they sought to take control back again.

Despite his deeds and truth,
evident in what he taught,
by deception, lies and betrayal,
he was rounded up and caught.

In a trial that found no arguement,
to undermine what he had said,
he was sentenced to crucifixion,
nailed on a cross until he was dead.

I am sure you know the rest,
of how on the third day he did rise,
and you have seen our world still battling,
against the hate and all the lies.

On this very weekend, remember,
this man from long ago I beg,
for there is much more to this remembrance,
than the chocolate in your egg.
Enjoy you Easter everyone.

"it is finished"
The only debt l could never repay
Odd Odyssey Poet Apr 2021
As like a Rose,
his body was put to rest.
As many would suppose,
that the Lord Jesus lost to death.
But like a Rose that rises,
Jesus will rise to be alive

He will soon rise again.
Odd Odyssey Poet Apr 2021
He bled and shed,
a crown of thorns upon his head.
A price greatly to be paid,
death yearned for us by our sins
But Christ Jesus took our places instead.

Wine of his blood,
bread his body.
Bruised and scarred,
He went through it all, for he greatly loved me.
Easter egg
I found you by the river in a basket
It reminded me of Moses'story
Like you are here to liberate us from slavery
There was something about your beauty I couldn't fight
A sweet mellow played on as we locked eyes
A flash of light that opened the skies came from your skin
Like  you are not a born of this world
Almost made my eyes blind
Like you are a magic stone I should use to turn my life around
So here's the thing
What's your name?
What's your story?
Where are you from?
Where do you live?
Can we date?
I can sing, I can write how about you?
Smiles shying from my sight
Leaves me in wonder and asking more
Are you an angel
She said,
"Maybe so behave.
Only here to tell you a king from the tribe of David will die today and resurrect after three days.
So give your life to Christ and nothing will be the same again"
And then she disappeared.
Her chorus still lingers in my ears.
So exalt his name for he's here to change your life and your sins are forgiven and forgotten
Happy Easter holidays
Thursday Night

Body-blood
wafers-wine,
praises turned crucifixion,
a mother's milk gone sour
to boil its lamb son alive.
We lament, and remember
(upon this Thursday night)
the actual retail price paid,
the victory won from defeat.
