Oh my lord, these messages
regarding novel technology
But how original is it really?

Aura, heavenly choir
echoes, booming through your living room
and creeping into your bedroom laptop
The religion is now available in a watch
The weight of this phone and the distractions she invites
I feel like a past man, a robber baron
displaced in his longest dream, and it’s terrifying
that there are past lives
I’m not sure how I’ll deal with the flashing images
which describe everything I ever done

my digital might is incompatible with my analog life forces.

U text me dis
I text U dat
She dissed my dis
I sent last Sat.

U LOL’ed
on down the list
I sexted sixth—
my 7th missed.

U banned my width
I booked your face
U twittered on—
She saved my space.

U scrolled me down
He tweeted smiles
We USB’ed,
recharging miles . . .

U giga-bit
encrypted files;
I saved as mine
and cached denials.

In digital
we re-erased,
then Skyped our souls
and interfaced.
Babylon is falling...
Imagine what would happen if suddenly
All of our technology just vanished?

I *
know
that most think
Life would become  serene and peaceful
With socialisation and healthy leisure
All year round

But if we stop and truly picture
This new world
What we will  see
Is chaos and confusion

With no understanding of how
To socialise besides our
Digital devices
And with no clue  how
To yield a bat and ball.

Beyond this our drone-like minds
Wouldn't be able to comprehend
How to read or draw
Magical talents belonging to
An older world.

How pitiful existence is
With all of our life force
Being ****** into these gadgets
And how truly unlucky
For the new generation
As all their talents and mind are wasted.

The hive mind is coming
Computer networks running
Always uploading and downloading
Error data system malfunction
Mal intention in the form of malware
Viruses are now digital
Reality is virtual
And I am virtually effected
My identity is tied to
People I will never meet in person
All likes and reposts
To validate my existence
No flesh just zeroes and ones
Just zeroes and ones
Just zeroes and ones
Error
Error
Error
Error

we love through computer
screens, typing kisses into
code, our hands becoming
one interface, every pixel an
eye that stares back at us,
observing the electrons that
make us human, particles
glowing in our blood, bits
infinitely shifting, compressing,
creating space for us in the
digital world.

I chased my love
Her sleeping soul
Soft gently warmth
Her dreaming flesh
Her sighing breath
And watched her from a distance
Resting in her digital visage
Black and white photo
Absorbing and exploding
All spectrums of desire
Not only a flower
But a shattered mirror
Distorting and reporting
My own sorrows
I chased her
Miles behind
And miles ahead
But I will never reach her
Cause she is in my head

Money hungry
Describes our world
We destroy and harm
(Ourselves and the earth)
For pieces of paper
It's repulsive
A waste of human labor
We're meant to live
Not to sit at a desk
People forget there's more than this
9 to 5, working over time
Everyone's eyes looking beyond tired
Losing communication with one another
I'll smile and wave
Nowadays most people don't even bother
Kindness is embedded in me
Where did it go
Life is supposed to be so much more beautiful
