Abi Winder Aug 23
nineteen years,
238 months,
1,034 weeks,
7,238 days,
of my life.

i can compress my existence
into numbers.
lay them out like statistics.

tell people i am made of days, hours, minutes.

numbers.
they are easy.
finite.
simple.

but will i ever be able to translate my existence in words?

will i ever be able to speak such complexities?
or only count?

In a new life, new emotions, new thoughts and new possibilities,
A heart held open can beat new rhythms;
The song can sound different, the tune can change,
But the intention remains the same;

Love, peace, hope: compassion ...
A heart held open can withstand pain and
Grow stronger, mightier, and wiser.
A heart held open can hold paradoxes, which is life.

All those who do good
are not good nor
are they automatically bad.
All those who do bad
are not bad nor
are they automatically good.
We are insanely complex beings
who need to see each other
beyond good or bad, so
humanity & peace prevails.
Black & white are great colours.
And we are beings who cannot be defined merely as black or white.
Let’s work on viewing each other as the complex beings we are, beyond black or while.

Your complexities
are compounded by my simplicities,
and since
you came to me
like the alphabet of a language
I cannot read
you will,
when you leave
depart unchanged.
Whereas,
I will be changed forever
like a root verb
which is built upon
to express
a more complex idea.
Complexities of life can be understood but can be shown
From birth till death man remains just in the danger zone
One should not have a living heart but just heart of stone
By the end of the day destitute soul has nothing to own

Humans are in unknown, unseen chains always to suffer
On this world stage we come and go like nominated actors
Keeping in eyes life full of flowers we smilingly face altars
What we are completely borrowed souls and bodies in cover

What is life a dream in dream with all the fits of insanity
What we have been ordered we are but bound to agree
World is an ocean full of whirlwinds and to face without plea
What is fate written somewhere and what is fortune let us see

How to break these chains to come out of cruel clutches of life
We have to travel per force with bare feet on sharp blunt knife
At times we are on swing of luxuries and at times just in strife
From these unseen chains man wants to be free just like a rife

Never said anyone simple was attractive
Complexity walking away with the cheers
Wearing the gorgeous nothingness
And swaggering away to oblivion

Inseparably attached,
Hopelessly apart,
An ocean away,
But we carry one heart.

The emotions I feel,
As I think of you,
A smile and a tear,
I wonder which is true?

I've never touched your hand,
Or said your name aloud,
Yet for not a second doubt,
That I'd find you in  a crowd.

The words of love you give,
And bits of truth you share,
Are the only things that help,
The distance for me to bear.

I try to be so strong,
But I am brought to my knees,
By the miles that separate us,
To create our love's complexities.
Love over any distance, fires such strong emotions.

The fundamentals of simplicity is not fathomed
Entangled in the barbed wires of complexities
Simple words sing no more to the yearning ears
Heavy laden words and tedious conversations
Gnawing away at the precious moments of life
Disparity is making the divide in humanity
Thoughts no more in one’s control, all indoctrinated
Confusion and rage seems to be the new found ‘normal’
Wonder why simplicity is consigned to such a fate
Let there be a new dawn of realization, to simply live
Breathe in the fresh era of clarity, with no malice
Simplicity, I pray to thee, turn your gaze towards humanity
