The light always fades and goes
The darkness comes to chase it away
Bringing the shadows, my old foes
I'm just hoping to last another day

This night has no stars, no moon
This night lasts longer than it should
This night wreaks havoc like a typhoon
This night is often misunderstood

What brought on this eternal eclipse?
Can no one else see its shadow?
I'm the only one in this apocalypse
But sometimes it's peaceful, being alone

The End of the World

“It’s the end of the world!”

No, it’s just Monday.
Not a cloud in the sky,
But it still feels like doomsday.

Like Frost, you’ve tasted desire.
It hurts like a mother,
And is as subtle as a house is on fire.

Like Frost, you’ve known hate,
Hate for yourself, hate for your vice.
You play it so cool, you freeze into ice.
Ice numbs the pain,
And for now will suffice.

But when the heat of desire melts what is frozen,
And what has long gone unspoken is finally heard,
All must heed the poignant and heart-stopping omen,
Because what happens next feels like the end of the world.
Someone took a pair of shears
and chopped down all the buildings.
Now I must turn my head
to see the whole sky,
splotched with wisps of white
like an old man’s stubble.

Barren hills swell up like blisters
on the smooth flat land,
their windmills slicing the sky
like blunt razors.

My foot squishes over a rejected nectarine.
I kick it as I walk, watching it roll unevenly
on the pavement
until it plunges down a gaping storm drain.

I’ve Seen The Future

I've known the truth, since the day my eyes were opened,
That this world is amazing, yet equally frightening.
Since I saw Michael Jackson, dancing on The Soul Train TV Show.
Since I saw E.T. die, because he couldn't phone home.
Since I saw Neil Armstrong, land on the moon.
Since I saw Uri Geller getting paid, to simply bend spoons.
The truth will set you free.  Your ignorance will blind you.
If you’re lost in the darkness, his light will guide you.

All my young life, I believed what I was shown,
Until my life scarred me and now I know.
This whole thing is an illusion, were just part of the plan;
But even if that’s true, I'm still a man,
Who can see such beauty, in such bitter sadness,
Who can't be happy, even when surrounded by happiness.
Experience teaches us things, we don't want to know;
But if you learn from your mistakes, you will know it's time to go.

My friend died of a heart attack,
Is there no way I can bring him back?
I want to learn immortality, so I don't end up like that;
But I don't want to live forever, for Heaven sounds quite a laugh.

It was written in a book, two thousand years ago.
The prophets spoke of things to come
And Jesus was the star of the show.
He sacrificed himself, to free us all from damnation;
But now were condemned to end the world.
There is gonna be a termination.

Einstein lead us to the bomb, that condemned all human beings;
For power leads you to be evil, there can be no happy ending.
The end of the world is nigh, they've been saying for years;
Now their words will become reality…the end is here.

Eyes glazed and scarred, red lipped and maddening
Death abounds, as Father cries, babbling.
Man’s fie’ry wrath, the grisly reaper grins.
A corpse with twisted mouth confesses sins.

Maggots writhe, and the bloated corpse erupts.
The state of man, pride and power corrupt.
Two headed bats spread their filthy black wings,
Ravenous vultures feast, tormented screams.

God dressed in sackcloth, head covered with ash.
Streams fall from their eyes, their ****** teeth gnash.
Harrowed souls drift about hellish hollows.
Judgement awaits and damnation follows.

Bombs without sight rain down from the heavens.
Purged of man’s filth, oblivion beckons.

Veni, veni, venias
Ne me mori facias
Just a thought of the end. It’s kind of exciting?

Future

Sentimental memories;
Dreams of yesterday.
Wishing for a better opportunity,
To somehow change our ways.

This is our life, our time, our day;
Seize it with both hands,
Because today will soon become a by-gone age
And you will not be given a second chance.

I recall the future, because history repeats itself;
We sit on our own hands and we have no soul left to sell.
Forward into the future, your destination is unknown;
Who are we that we could make a difference, when we are all alone?

The present does not exist, because now is always then;
The present has already gone to become the past.
Inside a split second, we are taken into the future once again
And everything we think we had, I guess we never had.

I see your future on fire burning away in front of you,
As the past is constantly fading away.
Who are you to think you can see further than they claim to?
A post-apocalyptic nuclear future;
This is all I can see and I have nothing more to say.

It is coming like a wrecking ball,
Heading straight for your door;
Your future is on its way so you had better face it head on, or…
It will hit you like you are a baseball and knock you out the park;
We are all blind as to what is to come and we are all lost in the dark.

Progress is what we denote our history
but I think every human
must be high on helium
a rapidly depleting natural gas
But we'll still frack the Earth up her ***
'till Cheney's great-grandkids choke
on air that weighs a couple ton
So instead of crying, Heil! I-burnt-a-ton!
He'll be saying, I failed ya son

It's billionaires tricking millionaires
and poor funeral expenses heirs
They say the pretension is concentrated
in the impoverished to middling educated

"Those ***** Planeteers driving Priuses
and demanding taxes for their green agenda
Taking subsidies away from good ol' coal and oil
Like the Earth's more important than employment

Jesus was a carpenter, even he had a job
and there's still plenty of resources left to use up
Once the last drop of oil is drilled, the last animal's dead
Then the carpenter will come back to judge your soul

Hopefully you didn't waste your time
trying to save what was meant for man"

society has drugged some people into the idea that if we have money we will be happy
Turning people into brainless hungry zombie
Never having a enough
Always searching the lowest of wastelands for more

Society has built us into soldiers
Robotic and grey
Gave of us the ability to make choices
But put us on restricted mode
the robots are slowly turning to rust
Yet they march forever more

Society has given a dystopia
Out of a utopia
By making us feel like we have choices
distracting us
Lying  and saying
That everything fine
But the air is ash
And our minds are trash

the modern apocalypse
look deeper in our lives
