your hubris, your naked, your touch
how wonderful that I get to see you like this
behind my eyelids anywhere we go

those nights where your nails dig into my neck
how wonderful that I get to feel you like this
without anyone really needing to know

those days where I count your every freckle
how wonderful that I get to keep you like this
secure that every time this isn’t all for show

your sweet, your delicate, your kiss
how wonderful that I get to adore you like this
always devoted to you, my permanent bedfellow.
Stay, at least long enough for the bed to remember your shape

Melodies, on the cusp of disbelief.
Whispered secrets to the dog with no leash.
Dance together by candlelight my tale.
Flicker and shimmer and love without fail.
Until amber honey oozes within
your fiery warmth now freed from its sin.
A cider and spider sat by the hearth.
Moments like these hold value beyond worth.

Your eyes upon mine, our words trace our ears,
true wonder my dear, there’s nothing to fear.
With me by your side, and your hands in mine,
we’ll ride this train to the end of the line.
A parade of sparks trailing in our wake,
living day by day, ignoring the stakes.
Resting arm in arm in a bed so warm.
Together my dear, we’ll weather the storm.
And now, I know how it feels for fruit to rot
to shrink from its skin,
collapse into itself,
and lose all grandiosity
in just one fleeting moment.
Just one moment in which an ego so fastidiously groomed frays
wrapping around the core of my being
under the effervescent ardour
of someone, I won’t love in an hour.

All the things I am scared to say
pile in my brain;  begging to flood over
they don’t know their own names, but
crave to be heard.

your voice. its vibrato, true velvet
floating across every atom of my being
a truth spoken that only comes from your lips
a masterpiece no mere humans could create

my darling, do you sift through the clouds
scanning my eyes as I worship the light you bring?
do you hear me call your name as my dreams
project themselves toward where you are.

your eyes. their stare, a protective state
I have never known; dancing across my
every move. laughter finds itself within the
outlying colors of your world. Don’t you see…

don’t you see, our eyes match intensities to
create another creation. a world colliding
but not in a collision. A big bang, but in serenity.
a secret kept; only for us.

please, don’t allow me to write about the hands
that write me everyday. defining a path in the dark
a leader, led by truth and goodness
sought by many; found by me.

I fall into an eternity, wrapped into you —
you rise and fall; I reciprocate. We are
patterns; carefully placed alongside
juxtaposing backgrounds, only to become one.

I surrender, fully. I understand now. For you
my heart would fall from my chest, fulfilled
it leaps.
I will not chase it, it has found its freedom.

Freedom in the throwing up of hands.

I can no longer paint pictures
my hands are trembling and broken,
even though I arranged directions in the fixtures,
you know there’s much I’ve never truly spoken.
I created a simple scavenger hunt
and drew out a map to my only treasure,
my clues are obvious but clearly not blunt,
but what I have cannot be weighed nor can it be measured.

You should know me well enough
to know there’s nothing you can’t say,
go on and call my bluff,
I’ll remain feeling this way.
Kiss me gently or slap my face
give me breath or finish me,
stay connected or disappear without a trace,
I’ll still love you unconditionally.

I’ve never been one to give a speech;
words have weight and I hate my voice,
but with time and support it’s not impossible to teach
where there’s a will, there’s a way and a choice.
It feels like I’ve made it easy to see
I can’t help it, it’s plain as day,
‘cause even as I’m locked; you’ve got the key,
and your lips can read mine for what I don’t say.

I’ll never forget the smile on your face
when our lips slowly first met,
the skin that my fingers ache to trace,
a face that even death could not make me forget.
Burn my skin and scrub me raw,
or lovingly bathe me in the sea,
you can part the rules and break each law,
but I’ll still love you unconditionally.

I believe you can pull the stars
straight down from the skies,
cause I see past all your scars
and see them twinkle in your eyes.
I know everyone has their role
and everything is a two way street,
but Darling if I’m going to bare my soul,
it’s only fair that you show your feet.
Hours later I go back on my vow not to write a love poem on Valentines Day. I lose.
