Please, please, please,

be with someone who will buy you all of the hydrangeas off the shelves, who will wrap each bouquet with her naked hands.

Be with someone who will go to the moon for you, who will risk vertigo & seasick to bring you out to sea.

Be with someone who will buy you air tickets for every occasion, be in love in every city with you and romance you till 70.

Be with someone whose soul and heart will ache for you, Who will embrace you & accept you for all your flaws that they see stars within them.

Please, find someone who will name your Daughter after you ;because you are the most beautiful.

Please, be with someone that will carry you when you are weary, when you are sick, even when all she had, was spine full of injuries.

Please be with someone who understands, who has a soft heart. Who understands ego is lesser than, us, than, pride.

Lastly, be with someone who has the ability, stability to give you all the above.

That I never did and never will.
In both write ,
trying to describe ,
writing trying to describe the attempt...

Taste the black and white keys
Caked with the blood of passion
Sweep the streets of keyless doors
Find the lock that fits under the trees
Ration the waves of this nation
And the lonely desert breeze

I have seen the golden sheen
In the alchemy of ages gone
I have worn the berserker's skin
And sung the piper's song
I have heard the sound of earth
And I have learned the beating of the land
I have learned that God can not be captured
By any mortal man

The tower will always fall
But flight will forever be ambition
The human soul is impregnable
The revolution never asks permission
To place that first brick down
Take more than it's been given
To see God within the clouds
And pull him down to be forgiven

I am weak
as all men are,

but on my best days
I would not hesitate
to take your pain
as my own,
bare your wounds,
live in your cage,
so you could be free
to grow and be
better.

It would be
a worthy sacrifice;
You see
but that is just me
on my better days.

It is not your room.
The wound is not
your wound,
so you do not feel
as if the pain is real

but the blood is factual.
The loss is actual.
The costs are varied.
Each face
wears sorrow’s
sick slick scars.

I can see them
from where you are.
Why can’t you?

we do not have to beg and plead
to meet with our Gods in mosques and temples.
holy isn’t the space between stone pillars and walls -
holy is the absolute power of our ***,
holy is the space between our legs.
we do not have to hide and disguise
the pain of a hundred muscles writhing and twisting
and sneak into warm kitchens to feed cold stomachs
after hours;
a pounding heartbeat
marking every second stolen to steal food
from a home that is just as rightfully ours.

we do not have an obligation to remain
a glassy lake that lies still throughout the storm,
pleasing every passerby with a picture of themselves;
the narcissists and egotists can go straight to hell.
we do not have to cut our lips on our teeth
by setting our default response to a ‘yes’
when every cell in our bodies unite to protest.

we do not have to pretend to smile at the
uninvited embraces of unwelcome hands and eyes.

because no holy man in a holy temple that exiles women
deserves to rub his filthy hands over the valleys and mountains
of goddesses cast in stone,
and no tradition can lead to the starvation
of a woman who has to bleed if she is to live.
lakes do not stay serene in a storm, they do not surrender;
they bend over backwards and swallow the horror.

you see?
we do not
we absolutely do not
have to
need to
or be forced to
do anything at all -
unless we
really, really
want to.
for #NaPoWriMo, for equality.
today started off
with a little variety
left my house sleep-deprived
for my group for anxiety

and I look forward to it
that group feels like home
guess I need a reminder
that I'm not alone

and I came out replenished
ready for the day
I feel I can face life
*a whole different way
