Question

I was the question
And she was the answer.
You found the answer,
And forgot the question.

--It's always been her...
It's always been her.
But why are we so caught up on depending our happiness on others?
why can’t we be happy because we decide to?
We consistently make people our only source of happiness
and we are consistently heartbroken when they let us down...

when someone loves me
i am afraid of it

i am talking about
undisguised love
day by day
tiny bits of myself...

...take off my mask.
behind my eyes is a green curtain
behind this curtain is my flesh

behind my flesh is my ego
behind my ego is the real me

been on a journey
take me away
and then let me stay

take me to the place of the real me
let me stay.

today is a good day.
Though she may be smiling,
do not be misled.
Alone she could be crying,
with words left unsaid.

if my mind
was the universe
thoughts of you
would be the
stars that fill it
endless
countless
beyond measure

Enemy

Sometimes I wonder..
What would the world be like if I wasn't here?
Would there still be sunshine..
And rainbows?
Or would it just be darkness and despair?
What am I thinking
My presence makes no difference
I'm not worth as much as people think
And I guess I just have to respect that
Even though my conscience tells me otherwise

He tells me I'm worth it
I face the other direction
He tells me I can
I drown myself with doubts
When will I realize
That I am my own enemy.

I carved her name upon the dawn
So every morning might be with her
But as it rose It grew too bright
And closed my eyes
Yet still I saw her there

I carved her name upon the sky
To keep her near me every day
But nightfall came and cleared the light
And all was dark
Yet still I saw her there

I carved her name upon the moon
To stare at her throughout my nights
But tired eyes are sneaky foes
And sleep prevailed
Yet still I saw her there

I carved her name upon my soul
Love not just with me when I look
But every day and every night
And in my heart
Yet still I saw her there
