Oh, the sweet warm nights of summer;
barefoot on the pavement but for once it doesn’t burn,
walking side by side under the newly born night.
I reach out to hug you and i laugh as i realize
your hair still smells of chlorine from the pool.
Warm to the touch, your hand on my knees.

Watching the birds land on glistening trees.

Wind caressed my hair on the summer breeze.

The kiss of your lips.

The sun in your eyes.

You must've been sent from above, your energy is so divine.

Iv'e been lost in your beauty
Many times before.
The way you flow so flawlessly
The way the light shines through you
The way you sparkle and shine
As it bounces off each remarkable ripple.

I've been up and down you
Many times before.
Getting lost in your current
Endlessly exploring every part of you
You've carried me so far
As I floated contently for the ride.

I have come to you
Many times before.
You have never let me down
You have been so kind
When I need a friend, you will comfort me
And I'll be forever grateful.
I painted my room the hue of blue
For a reason
You see, blue reminds me of the beach
Which reminds me of hot summer days
And cold summer nights
Which reminds me of when you lent me your sweatshirt
Which wasn’t blue, but when I wore it I swear it radiated that hue
It’s scary having deep feelings for someone
But the radiance of blue was so vibrant
It was easy to push my fears aside
Instead I was filled with calmness, peace, security, and feelings of content
I was left the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.
I painted my room the hue of blue
To remind me what I want to strive to feel
Each day of my life
I’m open to any thoughts, suggestions, or critiques :)
Shifting bruises in unswept dust
Summer whispers to trees untouched
A wind-swept melody
runs through sun-baked weeds
Amber roots seep steadily
Staining the driftless sky

My favourite thing about the sun and you is that you both hold warmth that I crave for.

lua
wind chimes in early morning breeze
the sizzle of shadows
from the blazing sun
kisses my skin
all sticky from sweat and heat
i twitch
the whites of my eyes are painted with tears
take a step
and jump
plunge myself into the blue
and bathe in the grey afternoon clouds
til i wait
for the sunset.
