all i wish for
are your wings ;
( great. powerful. endless flights through places i would call home, just me and just my thoughts and just the wind. )

all i wish for
is your beak ;
( sharp. different from a human mouth. responding and calling out every wordless sound i want to scream to the world. )

all i wish for
are your paws ;
( carry me as far as you can )

but i am not you
i don't have your wings
                             or beak
                             or paws
                             or what i wish for most of all

( let me tell you the most striking thing: reading an interpretation of you, learning about how you could possibly, probably, maybe predict and detect and deduct lies, never being fooled, gazing at people, being able to gauge their sincerity with just a sharp threatening sweep, of your eyes. )

my heart is unfair.
I feel too much way too fast.
but I am always too scared to say a thing.

not one person has ever matched my intensity.
so I sit quietly in love with people.
too afraid to expose my heart.

I've done it before,
been open about my feelings.
but now I lay with holes in my heart.

so, for now, I will keep quiet.
patch up my aching heart.
and wait until I am stupid enough to hope again.

You were so pretty while you were sleeping,
I had to wake you.
I didn't mean to disrupt your dreams,
I just had to tell someone, and the cats never listen, the dog doesn't understand, and the bird, he'd be jealous.
See, sometimes when you fall asleep before I do, I get lost in my love for you.
Sometimes when you're still and quiet, you are most alive in me.
Sometimes when you are dreaming your dreams, I am living mine.

Everybody's dying to be heard,
And yet it's silent...we don't make a sound.
If we'd realize the power of our words before we'd speak them, we'd be found.

We'd be found, closer than we are right now.
Maybe then we'd realize, we're all looking through the same eyes.

It really breaks my heart to watch this fall apart.
As we stand there in the distance, saying "It's too late to fix this."
We'll leave it up to someone else.
We'll give our thoughts away for free, and then we'll buy them off the shelf.

We're closer than we've ever been.
I think it's time for us to begin...
To find some kind of compromise.
Cause we're all looking through the same eyes.

I didn't have anything nice to say,
But my lips kept moving anyway.

I am not a violent person,
