speak to me

in indo-european

make love to me

with the kama sutra

burn me

with the greek fire

break down my walls

with the trebuchet

pierce my soul

with the pistol

In the night, the demons flee
Turned on the light, are they sacrificing me?
A smile, a shiver, corpses thrown in the river
Was it misfortune or good intent?
The demons stay, they are reluctant

The stars are shining, fire is burning,
The demons arise and the tables are turning
A demonic force awakens the mind
Of a thing which came from another kind

The last steep, running on time,
They'll show up when it is over nine
When I awaken,
Is the universe forsaken?
The tables are turning and the chances are taken.

I know that you don't want
Anything long term
Or serious right now
And I am completely fine
With being the smoke that
Fills your lungs
Even if just for a moment
And then as you exhale
And let me go
I'll be fine as I watch you
Extinguish the remaining glow
From the short cigarette
Of our relationship.
Sit there and watch
the power of the moon
feel how you are moved
by Her
your blood at her mercy
Watch the tides and learn
to surface when it is safe
enough to breathe
wax with Her
and wane with Her
learn to swim with the
mutable tides
of your existence
navigate these hours
by Her
then see the bounty
of the moon spill into your life
"The moon is a loyal companion." -Mafi

Liar

You look into my eyes
And see how I have died

You ask if I’m okay
I quickly throw on a face
In an attempt to look great

And say ‘I’m fine’
‘Just got something on my mind ‘

You walk away
Not realizing
How badly I’m lying
This has happened so much at school. On bad days, it feels like everyone asks but gets fooled by those words. It’s weird how easy it is to trick people.

Night Sky

The night sky looms above
Showing the night sky of
A city
Pollution takes
Away the stars
That makes
It seems so dark
Years ago
Where I used to call home
The stars covered
The night sky
They loomed above
With pretty light
But now
Pollution takes
Away the stars
That makes
It seem so dark
This is all metaphorical. From the night being bright to it having no light.

empty seas
they said
they'd never use me
but they treated me like a tool

she said
she cared
but she thought I was expendable

he said
he'd never tell
but he confessed when I turned away

broken promises
fake smiles
you talk and talk
but never say
anything
close
to the truth
Most of my friends last year were the embodiment of fake, I'm going to leave them in 2017, hopefully.
falling, down a deep dark hole
the light at the end slowly descends
as you too,
drift into madness.

Welcome to Wonderland.

if you can dream it, you may have it, my dear.
and if you see it? it's not real my dear.
if you can touch it, it is only touching you
you are do not exist
you are but a figment of one's imagination
trapped inside a physical realm.

the wise old caterpillar, grey from never metamorphosizing,
curls down the dewy leaf
he murmurs
"scream, no one will hear you
hide, no one will find you
run, and you'll tire, just to end up right where you're standing now
you can escape all fury and pain in the world
but you can never run away from yourself."
Each day will be different,
And no feeling will ever last,
You’ll climb some mountains to the top,
And others you’ll fall down fast,
There will be days you can’t get up,
And nights where you can’t sleep,
This place called Life is where you’re at,
Where none of us asked to be,
There will be moments you fall in love,
And a broken heart will follow,
You’ll learn very quickly the meaning behind,
“We were not promised tomorrow,”
We all hate something about ourselves,
So we pick on others,
And we never stop to think about,
How one another suffers,
This place is hard to understand,
So make it up as you go,
And no one can tell you why you’re here,
Because no one really knows.

What if every person
Titled each poem
With the line it contained
That they found to be the most
Meaningful?
