Insecurity is like poison
It engulfs you
Suffocates you until you can't breath
It slowly takes over you
And you gradually lose all hope
Even the will to fight
But you try to find an antidote
You will try to live on

helping him
breathe
while you
were attempting
to drown
him
i will
wake up
when those
with blood
under their
fingernails
stop telling
me
to wash
my hands

like crimson petals
in the snow

to dance
as the wind
