Mystery

Observation is key,
To unlock the mystery.
Lent is the practice of sacrifice (going without) and remembrance. This year, I am giving up chocolate and will try to write a poem in my new “Lent Collection” each day. Enjoy!

Unpolished Ink
The sound of busy wings in flight
sweet song in mellow April light
carried on an early breeze
which shakes the limbs of new leaved trees,
pleasure after winter’s sting
a simple yet essential thing
we could not start the season
without the birds in spring

were you the best thing,
to ever happen to me?
was i holding my breath,
on something, i couldn't believe?
so tell me where your hearts at,
show me why you left that.

i'm looking at you,
while thinking of me.
will i ever forget,
how you put me at ease?
so tell me why i lost you,
take me where i had you.

you were my match,
and you lit every flame.
how did it all burn out,
was it you that changed?
so tell me how to fix this,
you still owe me that kiss.

but why is this hard,
should love really bite?
if we were meant to be,
shouldn't this feel right?
so tell me why we faded,
why do i feel so jaded.

maybe you were the,
best thing to happen to me.
but you swung around,
180 degrees.
maybe you were always moving on,
forever chasing that delta dawn.
dear delta, i hope you find that mansion in the sky

In my heart, the tears do call,
Each drop that falls, the heavens' thrall.
A whisper soft, a silent cry,
As if the soul would dare to fly.

In my gaze, the storm is stirred,
A spark of truth, a flash, a word.
It bends the soul, ignites the night,
And leads it through the realm of light.

In shadows deep, their secrets weave,
The night, a veil that dawns deceive.
Yet truth remains, though veiled, unseen,
In every hue, in what has been.

It’s not in notes that rise and fall,
But in the silence, beyond them all.
Where stillness breathes, the soul takes seat,
In beats unspoken, soft, complete.

In twilight’s glow, desires fade,
A fleeting flame, now softly laid.
Yet in its ashes, pure and true,
The soul's own fire is born anew

In every sacred corner of thy hall,
The Cup-bearer waits, to heed thy call.
For in the chalice of eternal grace,
The thirst of souls finds its resting place.

A single drop within these yearning eyes,
Carries the truth that never fades or dies.
Within thy glance, both gentle and wise,
I see the realms where spirit and form rise.

The sacred cup, which bids the soul to soar,
Holds wisdom deep, from life's eternal core.
Thy glance, like dawn, dispels the night’s dark veil,
And calls the heart to its destined trail.

O’ Cup-bearer, whose touch awakens the mind,
In every sip, the universe we find.
The world, in drunken dreams, takes fleeting flight,
Yet all it seeks is the hidden light.

For in thy gaze, the soul's true purpose gleams,
Beyond the shadowed world of fleeting dreams.
O’ seeker, drink, and let thy heart expand,
For in this cup lies the eternal land.

Exquisite Love

Beloved...

Here I am...
... I am listening.

See me...
Oh free me from my earthly tethers.

Trust me...
Lift me  to ride the clouds with You,
Above the storms.

Wild Animal Within

I want to befriend
The wild animal within
To sit with and know,
To encourage and mend.

To tame its twitches,
To friend its foes.
To flame its courage
And pull up its britches.

To walk the way
Of the narrow path,
To head North even with Rath
And help it trust You and all You say.

Inspired by:
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

Last Eid I became very sick,
And was admitted in ICU,
My son and daughter-in-law were there for me hands on,
After my release my son took me to their home,
And  as I got better I offered to help around the house,
My daughter-in-law just smiled and said,
For now for us is most important is you
BREATHE and relax,
You really scared us.

Wayward curls shine in silver
New strands each day I see
Nothing will ever stop these waves
From greying furiously

Why then be lost in troubled thoughts
And hurry those tides of white
Breathe in and breathe out instead
Let little things delight

Sing of the joys of nascent spring
Dance to a happy summer song
Paint trees in burnished gold
Spin tales of leprechauns

Embrace brazen winds that breeze
The earth that holds well-walked feet
The canopy of light and dusky night
Where the sun and the moon come to meet

No tarot reading
No fortune teller
No crystal ball I see
Why riddle the eyes with endless thoughts....
What shall be, shall be
Written a gazillion days back
