There you go again, rushing to blame me for falling
Forgetting that It's your magical beauty that tripped me

~

Off in a cabin set deep in the woods
Next to a lake where the fishing does thrive
The opposite shore is another the same
Someone is there, there’s a car in the drive

I hope they are quiet and keep to themselves
I really needed this time for so long
There is some movement, the door opens up
Wow, she is gorgeous, maybe I am wrong

Off in a cabin set deep in the woods
Where the deer and the squirrels do roam
Across a small lake, a cabin like mine
It appears there is somebody home

A man stands ashore with his hand to his eyes
Squinting, the sun is so bright
He's looking my way, so I give him a wave
I'm glad I won't be alone here tonight

I think she is waving, yes, I’m sure she is
A nice fishing pole in her hand
I start waving back with a smile on my face
This was not part of my plan

That is a problem, I have to admit
I planned this alone, that is true
But here in the woods with a beautiful girl
And it seems that she likes fishing too

Smiling real big, he hops in his boat
Making his way to my side
"Hi there" he says, "he's so handsome" I think
"I'm going fishing, would you like a ride?"

I’d love to of course but I’ve just now arrived
“Would you like to come in for a while?
I just need to unpack and have a quick bite”
“Let me help you” he offers with a smile

I gather her bag from out of the car
And set it just inside the door
The fishing can wait, we’ve plenty of time
There’s something else now to explore

She’s wearing shorts and a light emerald T
And green Converse All-Stars that match
I never thought as I drove up today
Something this perfect I’d catch

I think he looks a bit familiar,
Is it possible that he might be
The same boy I kissed that summer
When I turned seventeen

I turn to unpack my groceries
Not over thinking things much
When the tap on my shoulder startles me
I jump in his arms, and our lips gently touch

I really didn’t mean to frighten her
But it was so cute to hear her yelp
And her lips, I think I have felt them before
“Just wondering if I can help?”

She hasn’t let go and neither have I
I stare in her gorgeous brown eyes
And then I remember that time long ago
It’s her, I just realized

He recognizes me now, what does he think
I can feel my face start to blush
I hold onto him still, it feels good in his arms
I could leave but there's no need to rush

The chemistry is there, after all these years
I want to be alone with him here so much
He's grown tall and handsome, into a man
Now I'm dreaming of kisses and such

I never imagined I’d see her again
And definitely not in this way
But now that I have her right here in my arms
I’m thinking right here I will stay

I kiss her again and she doesn’t pull back
It’s much more than I could be wishing
It lasts for a while and that’s okay with me
Who cares if we ever go fishing?
A collaboration with my beautiful girlfriend and yes, she does love to fish.  :)

Where did she go this time
This seamstress of the rhyme
Did she just up and quit
Had enough of it
Decided to move on
Flipping the silver coin
That came up on heads
So that is why she left

Where did she up and go
This seamstress of the poem
Did she even bid farewell
Tell us all to go to...
Hello are you out there
I'm in my underwear
That may be T.M.I.
What I won't do for a rhyme

Why did she have to part
This seamstress of poetic art
Since the day she went away
Things round here ain't been the same
Sitting here wondering what is up
Cause I miss Deborah very much

Oh and the part about me in my underwear now burned into your mind
Any good Shrink could erase that given enough money and time

the small frail child
runs in and out of the surf
she bends gracefully and stretches her hand out for another shell

working the waves
she delicately turns her find
over in her fingers with appreciation
before placing it carefully in her pail

a dedicated sea nymph
she works the morning hours
through, her job is delight in nature

and she is paid in sand dollars

Be A Shining Light

Each morning just as you wake up
You have a choice to make
You can choose that you'll be happy
Or sad throughout your day

You can choose to see the good things
And not to see the bad
Look forward to your future
Let go of all the past

You can choose to think of others
Learn from your mistakes
Listen to different points of view
And give more then you take

If you choose each day to smile
You will make the world bright
Each morning just when you wake up
You become a shining light

Be A shining light

hold your head up high
like a fightin' rooster
**** your walk like you used to

talk and squawk
screech and yell
scratch holes in the earth
fight like hell

rip through the rain
ride on the wind
run fast and firm and free again

cry out loud at the break of dawn
you can make the sun your own
send it on up and roll it around

make it smile
make the sun smile
and light your eyes
and paint your feathers

get your head up high
like a fightin' rooster
let us stand together
never mind the weather
blood is forever

Couldn't be more grand!
They "catch your drift"
They understand.

The company of writers
The company of folks
Who "get" your pain
Laugh at your jokes!

They know the need
For being heard
Most people think
Our "play" absurd
And how expression
Can be burred
And inspiration
When it occurs
Can clear the mind
of weeds and burrs
They don't know
The written word.

Through a world
As black as pitch
It's a puzzle
It's a *****
I don't know
I can't say which
Is worse... the scratching...
Or the itch!

But you, my friend
Are part of me
You have my eyes
So you can see
Though we may bicker
And disagree
We are poets

Our mind's are FREE

Along a fence of winding row
blue morning glories sing
So sweet their early melody,
such happiness to bring

As bumblebees and butterflies
hum perfect harmony
Welcoming a new sunrise
in colors we now see

Tangerine and amethysts
aglow on eastern skies
Dew drops dance upon the lawn
reflecting in our eyes

So peaceful is this dawning day,
amidst a wondrous view
As every day it seems to be
*that I begin with you
Good morning Beautiful

Gardening can be good for your mind
watching the flowers that grow around your heel
but unknown to me they also grow in your mind
grow in your feelings, as in real life
and I am going to chase, that cat, that digs them up
squirt it with a water pisstol
and shout!   **** the dam!   well off!
but never hurt it
but on days i find
that garden which I tend,
try's to hurt me back
watch out for the roses
after sratching my arm bad and watching it bleed
it was as if the rose asked me a question back
saying I rip your skin and give you pain
but never sratch your soul
that made me think
can in you in the private garden of your soul get hurt?
All ture aND F**K that cat!       P@ul.

I am glad when people party
And Conga all around
When I see folks havin’ lots of fun
I am the happiest guy in town
I love to listen to their laughter
I’m ecstatic when they sing
If you ask me why I’m happy?
I say “Cuz’ Sad just ain’t my thing!”

You know the birds are always happy
They are singing all day long
Did you ever hear birds sing the Blues?
No, they sing HAPPY songs!
When they line up on a wire
And suddenly take wing
They’re gonna fly away all happy
‘Cuz Sad just ain’t their thing!

The Sun comes up each morning
Making rainbows, drying rain
Even on a cloudy day,
Mr. Sun will not complain
He’s up there smiling, laughing and
Peeking through the clouds
Helping everyone be happy
‘Cuz Sad just ain’t allowed.

I even think the clouds are happy
They are dancing all around
Making polka-dotted shadows
On the people on the ground.
Birds and Sun and Clouds and
People singing, dancing all around
When everyone is Happy!
Sad ain't nowhere to be found!

Love is like warm honey
Slowly rolling
Off the end of your tongue

When you first
Feel your pulse
Your heart

Then the quickening
Of your breath
Smelling the scent

As it rises
You inhale
Feeling more excitement

Your heart is racing
Now she is close
Passing by

The brush of her
Arm against your thigh
And as she passes

You grasp the table
And your espresso too
Before you fall down

You'll be back tomorrow
At the same time
For another scent or a touch

Which is a lovely way to start your day
