I will not live here forever
there will be no space and time
where we are headed
Love only, so lets make a start

The end of summer is such a ******
The end of picnic's in the park
The end of Fireworks in the dark
The end of State fairs
The end of outdoor booths were  people sell their wares
The end of camping and roasting Smores
All too soon we will back indoors
The end of outdoor Music Fests
Too soon to be replaced with books and taking tests
I hope what remains is some good memories of Summer to keep us warm all fall and winter long

I'm begging summer
Can you please stay?
I don't want to go back to that place
I feel so small
Even walking down the halls
Just get to class
You'll be okay
Hoping that the teacher doesn't call my name
Just a hello
And I panic and look away
When lunch comes I don't want to eat
So many people I can barely breathe
Help me summer
I wouldn't have to feel this way
If you would just stay
Not looking forward to the anxiety that comes with going back to school

Breathe.*
Choke on the cold,
feel your lungs tighten,
your teeth ache.
Hold your arms in themselves,
cradle them as they shake beneath goosebumped skin.
Walk.
Walk slowly so you do not force wind against yourself,
walk slowly so you do not have to choose where you are going yet,
walk toward light.
Let it spill over you,
feel its heat,
you,
still frozen at the core but the light,
it is so warm.
This.
This is what you have been waiting for,
what you wanted but could not articulate,
this gentle touch.
*Breathe.
Wrote this in my creative writing class
There is a forest old as hillsides
tall, majestic, dappled shades
fall on ground beneath the silent
gnarled defenders of the glade.

There they stand in ancient splendour
many souls have passed their way
often used as welcome shelter
from the heat of summers day.

Sweet the air they breathe in chorus
our life's breath their lungs provide,
soaking up our daily poison
so that we may live and thrive.

You seas of men intent to clear them
citing progress, peddling greed
tearing roots from precious mooring
laying waste to nature's seed.

**** the beauty of a landscape
displace creatures for your need
rupture fragile ecosystems
scar the earth and watch it bleed.

To you I ask a simple question,
as I see the land bereaved.
What need has man of all this progress
when he can no longer breathe?

With your eyes closed
By weights of air
Lie still

The heat on the backs of your ears
Stretches far to either side
Extend your tongue to taste the throes
of haste in Summer’s stride.

Loftish palaces float idly by,
Pace prestigious portents in the sky
And from their steps, stumbling down,
A preening wind upon your crown.

Your skin weeps
And you become
A marshland.

Heat-stroked pines o'ercome the air
Heavy insects cry and wail
Wing'ed, they move in slanted dances
To seek the suns neglected veil.

Hale the blossom, unfurl’d gold
Makes you forget that it is old
For nimbly, like deep thought from head
Opened eyes find sweet Summer fled.

So many ways I think thee
my thousand stir of dreams have broken
as the drifted clouds
as the ripples of ocean
petals of the roses have grown wither
my moon's eyes have covered with shadow
sometimes her pale black mystic
face has made an illusion,
as the chaos has risen within the bean
I have alienated through time,
isolated from you,
my love,
It has grown again as stratified
rock beneath the ocean
layer by layer in course of time
where the footprint
of ripples marked as the sign of life
It has metamorphosed
and seemed compact
with a few traces of tears,
on the dark stone
where till it's a little bit alive -

@ Musfiq us shaleheen
metamorphosis is the process where the strata or rock bed marked the time and we can see the ultimate process of changes, here the process of life with love metamorphosed with time and we find the little ripples formed within the rock formation beneath the ocean when it has stratified where tears have traced distinctly.

There is a loneliness felt with
the snow falling
headlights reveal only
what lies ahead
perhaps winter chose for us
the easiest path

your body shifts
closer to the door
as I catch my breath
at every turn

your hands let go
for just a moment
and home feels
a million breaths away...

Mischievous wind blows
On the sun kissed field
Graceful barley bows
To indicate its servility
Under the whopping sky.

Soon it is time for a
Masterful peasant
To humbly show its
Joy and respect
And worship the harvest.
In the sun kissed field
Under that golden shield.

Modern Serenity
If I was but an beautiful and pure exotic green leaf
I would be tied to an amazing oak tree with a very strong belief
I would be tossed with the breeze of the wind from side to side
and I would try my best and keep myself tied

I have but a wonderful way to frolic
and you would think i'm very much jolly
From season to season I change my appearance
I know I wont die because I have reassurance

Out of nowhere today I was simply wrong
I started falling slowly from the tree to the ground
and I just couldn't believe I went from green to brown
now I have nothing to do but just settle down

You almost shine as bright as the school bus yellow sun
Where you tend to be like the cool breeze of the wind on the sienna earth
And the fresh flowers bloom of burgundy and the sand a light shade of wheat

The heat of the mornings are
slowly being replaced by autumn's approaching coolness
It looks like another summer for the books
It is harder to make memories now

Those forever days
Hours spent at the pool
Surviving off of Goldfish and cookie sleeves
While hair went blonde and skin went brown
The paradoxical AC freezing the skin off of your bones
But you can't retreat to your blanket without preparing yourself
for dinner

Those endless hours spent alone or with company
Doing everything and nothing
A place where Kokapeli's pizza still exists
Or experiencing that fender ****** as a witness
The girl gets out to check the damage
She is wearing only a bikini
I felt like I was in an Updike story
Only in the summer

thousand million stars
cupped in my hands
as I look around
I see you dancing
You are more than a cupped universe
I could never hold your spirit
the best I can do
is love you forever
