There are
only
two thoughts
in the language
of
our souls,
Fear
and
Love.

Inside a crystal glass case,
A heart made of stone
Cold like ice
Covered in spikes.

As jagged as it looks,
Anything it touches
just ends up hurt:
Broken like the pieces of earth.

Meant to be numb;
Never meant to feel warmth.
But as a small ray of light
Finds its way inside-

*"It can love, after all."
Melt your frozen heart.

Drove through snowstorms over icy roads
Warmed by the fire of my love for you
Following a lifeline of energy
Thought it led to your heart, warm and true
But there was only burning pain as you pushed me back
Erasing all the joy I ever knew
Signs were there that it was a trap
But the mine exploding in my face was my first clue
Open hearts are always more vulnerable..... But to truly love, and receive love, we must be vulnerable

I miss when his mind said, "You're beautiful",
his eyes said, "I love you",
and his heart said, "You're mine forever".

Love is the cure,
for your pain will keep giving birth to more pain
until your eyes constantly exhale love
as effortlessly as your body yields its scent.”

Pablo Neruda
I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day
I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps.

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body,
the sovereign nose of your arrogant face,
I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,

and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight,
hunting for you, for your hot heart,
like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue.

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine

There are different wells in your heart.
Some fill with each good rain,
Others are far too deep for that.

In one well
You have just a few precious cups of water,

That ‘love’ is literally something of yourself,
It can grow as slow as a diamond
If it is lost.

Your love
Should never be offered to the mouth of a stranger,

Only to someone
Who has the valor and daring
To cut pieces of their soul off with a knife

Then weave them in a blanket to protect you.

There are different wells within us.
Some fill with each good rain,

Others are far, far too deep
for that.
Hafez was among the greatest poets of ancient Persia and wrote truly inspired poetry about love and mystical reunion with God.

Say Goodnight, My love
Come to my shimmering dreams
Dance with me till dawn
I am trampling over every wisdom
just to kiss the face of love.

Intertwined
Can't get close enough
Wrapped around me and I around you
Breathe you in... your warmth and scent surround me
Through the hypnotic pleasure of your hands in my hair
A rejoicing voice within sings:
"I'm home!"
My internal senses are certain
Even if the future is not
For this night I am where I have always belonged
Have you ever felt like you were in one of your favorite paintings?
