Musfiq us shaleheen
~~
She rolls down the western edge
The bucolic Spiral path
Coincides with the horizon
Gray foot print
Slowly mingles with dark
As the Bats of evening find back to home

Gentle Breeze to dangle
Purple haze of Four O'clock
The Crossroads, Wait behind
Where to start, or what end is!
Poetry continuing as the falls of pain

Afternoon's Lyrics said good bye
Today's bright Star does not rise
What they chase during the run out!
Why come back again
Along with the known way!

Moonlit falls on the ways of Standing hill
Beyond the horizon
Dark fading, while
Lost love fusions with her colors
Across the Monsoon, Autumn, Winter
Finally the Spring is on the way

( A reaction to Atul's poem, "Acknowledgement Long Due")

A well of words springs forth in every man's mind....they are either uttered...or written down...they could raise...or break,
someone's nerves, hopes or wall...

Words,  too, could be a source of strength
to be read...to be heard...channeled...offered...
to those in need of help...

Words may be a cradle....swaying.....
catching what could be falling...
or what has almost fallen...flat on the ground
a pad, that could soften the impact of a fall...

Words are a hammock, tied securely, between two trees
the trees move...but stay firm and steadfast
as the hammock swings to and fro...

I am a tree...my leaves and twigs,
being blown wild, by gusty winds
but i was swayed...i was calmed,
upon reading the words...sincere thoughts of a fellow poet...
my day was saved.

Sally

I promise you that we will make love
On a bed full of philosophy books
So that the depth of our hunger
Matches the depth of our thinking

Every press of my nail upon your flesh
Will have you question your existence
You'll feel more alive with every thought
Then you will understand Rene Descartes

Our smoldering bodies radiating pleasure
Will have you disregard the material world
This passion will posses the highest reality
Then you'll understand Plato's forms

Amidst my guidance toward your ******
You will hold values and aspirations close
And form your most perfect self with me
Then you'll understand Friedrich Nietzsche

On this bed full of marvelous thoughts
We will lay tangled exhausted overjoyed
For our love our lust and our everything
Will have the immensity of philosophy itself

Once a place of crossing,
  on this sensuously and
precariously warm
February day
I have come to be still,
and to watch, and to listen.

Shadows of trees,
so immensely tall,
stay oddly motionless
under green river water,
even as the surface
moves and swirls
carrying itself ever onward.

Leaves and mud are newly wet;
walking is softer, soundless.

Below the path winding upwards,
melted ice sings again as water.

I drink in its sound, soul diving
heart first into perfect, liquid treasure.

Granite and marble talismans , sugar white sandbars and felled Oak
bridges .. Smallmouth bass explode with hunger at the surface , soft shelled turtles in meditative bliss , fill driftwood and sun drenched rock islands , dancing waters and bank head flora lend a thousand different colors to the afternoon palette of a Kelleytown Summer ...
Water striders communicate with dance to the ballad of a bold Bluejay .. Young anglers test their skills with creek minnows in search of Yellow Perch and Black Crappie as the last hour of daylight swiftly begins to pass ..

damsel in distress
I've been looking for the place named HAPPINESS

Where there is no fake smiles and wasted tears

Where there is no promises made to be broken

Where there is no hi that ends with goodbye

Where sorry is enough to cover up the pain

Where money doesn't define a person

Where I can be myself without anyone judging me
Or telling me how I supposed to be

Where yesterday is just a reminder for us to be better

Where tomorrow minds itself till its day comes

And where today is all that matters

*Can someone please lead me the way?
I hope everyone will find their true happiness.

Poetry Take Me Away

I have had a hectic day ( that's an understatement)
Poetry come and sweep me away
Transport me through time and space
Please just take me to another place
I need to once more have a smile on my face
Because no one else can take your place

Poetry take me away

My TV  will not do
I am devoted only to you
Give me a quote or a sonnet or a rhyme or 2
My heart belongs to you
So write upon it with ink or stamp my heart
with your poetic seal
You have all  the appeal
For poetry I have zeal

Poetry take me away

Poetry you are my most faithful friend
My love for you will never end
You are my undying trend
Poetry
I want to spend time with you
Only you will do
My love for you is so true

Meg
i spent a lot of time
searching for love
in shallow spaces

i gave people parts of me
they didn't deserve
and i let myself be hurt
because i thought
that's what i deserved

but once i let go
of trying to shove puzzle pieces
where they did not fit,
once i let go of all the hatred
i secretly had stitched
into the gashes decorating my heart

i met you

Lady night offers her generosity
as the stars twinkle in syncopation for me.
Shadow-clad silhouettes...
Their gaits mysterious.
The night lights trail into the depths of my eyes.
Burning away the seconds, so effortless.

The quietness...
Willing forth dishevelled reflections...
Of unkempt emotions.
Allowing a barrage...
Of thoughts and notions that span
over night and day.

So that they could...
Be conveyed through paper and screen.
So that I could...
Share with you what I intimately mean.
The unforgiving onslaught of ideas and feelings
I bravely conjured...
But too afraid to say.

VALENTINES
In honor of you
Our ladies sweet
Who make men’s hearts
Skip a beat

For your walk and your looks
We extend our praise
For your love and compassion
We our glasses raise

A toast, to all of you
With blushing wines
Because for us
You are, Valentines

O' bygone poet's,
For where hath
Thou gone;

O' bygone poet's,
I keepeth thee alive;
In mine poetic song's.

O' archaic poet's,
Arise from thy
sepulchre;

O' archaic poet's,
Hath thou gone
Lost; massacred.

Terry Jordan
My name is Terry Fitzpatrick
I see familiar faces all around
Perhaps some long lost relatives
Still in County Cork who could be found

My grandfather, James William Fitzpatrick
Made his way to South Boston, Mass,
Just like thousands of Irish refugees
Was looked down upon as low class

“We don’t hire the Irish”
Signs posted on many a door
So he played piano and wrote songs
To feed his family of four

Side by Side and Beer Barrel Polka
Were 2 of his most famous songs
He sold the rights for so little
Few dollars, no credit, so wrong...

He had left County Cork in a hurry
Like thousands forced to leave town
His family, I’m told, were horse thieves
But The Famine’s what took them down

The Troubles continued in Boston
Fifty years before the Kennedys were crowned
My Grandfather kept drinking and singing
Grandmother died young without a sound

One of their 4 sons was my father
Clifford Joseph then had 4 sons and me
I’m proud of my Irish heritage
First one back to visit since 1893
When I arrived in Dublin, I felt like Mohammed Ali when he went to Africa for the Rumble in the Jungle;  everyone looked like my brothers & sisters, every cab driver was a poet or musician;  every town, no matter how small, had lots of live music.  I'm over the moon for Ireland.
