Heaven rained on me,
I breathed in the petrichor,
Bathed in the downpour.
I have sinned,
So destroy me,
With your rain.

your body interests me,
but your mind excites me.
every time we speak it's as if...
i've known you for years...
& then you disappear.
& i wonder if it's all in my head,
maybe you are my lucid dream.

You know the pretty
The made up
Put together girl
With curb appeal

You see the shiny
The presentation
Adorable lady
With hopeful intent

I know the reality
The crumbling
Sobbing mess
With heavy heart

I predict the end
The wreckage
Broken souls
With no hope

I once grew a garden.
It withered and faded,
Everything except for the tree.
That sapling I couldn't pull from the ground.
It's roots, mottled, protruding from the earths surface.
It's branches bare:
Weathering another winter, alone.
With a sun that couldn't reach.

It's trunk was wide, and filled with holes.
I drilled them there to find its' true age.
For although I planted it there, just a few years ago,
It appeared to be there for ages,
Solemnly resting in the arid soil.

It was no longer my own.
Someone else tended to the matters of its health.
They nurtured it, they fed it, they pruned its' leaves.
But they couldn't hear the songs it made.
Among the branches, among the leaves,
along the trunk, and through the roots.
The markings left from long summer months.

I climbed and climbed,
but always fell back down.
How could it be mine? This tree?
I could not claim it as my own,
I could not feed it,
I could not climb it.
But,
I wanted it.

We made an oath:
I promised always to return to its plot to rest.
And it promised me,
A night that would never end.
I cut my wrist, and fed it my blood.
It's roots responded in turn,
Burgundy wine that dyed its soil.
Now we are like family.
It grows in me,
and I in it.

Now when you see me,
Know that you can hear this trees song.
It taught it to me, through many long nights.
We sing it the same.
So catch me in the meadows' grass,
Under a cloudy day,
Singing madly,
Heading the reapers call.

Perfect

For years and years
I have hated and loathed
The word perfect
It has been a disgusting burden
Full of lies
But when he says it
Its beautiful
Reborn
"In my eyes, you are perfect"
This time, I felt it
Perfect
A word full of butterflies instead of lies

Forgiveness

It looks like adversity has gotten the better  of me.
I’m bruised, exhausted but I can hardly sleep.
The sun is unforgiving as it steals my shade.
Now I’m vulnerable right in front of your face.
My heart is always racing whenever I’m day dreaming.
My mind often floats away to another place.
I can’t seem to forgive you, I can’t seem to forget,
but I’ve been chasing your apologies alongside all my regrets.
It’s what makes me human when I’m running from your threats,
but your stare is so forgiving, your gaze floods my heart.
I’m lost in a trance that sets the world apart.
Trapped in my everlasting reality, but I found my way back.
Except, I forgot who I was on this endless rigid track.
I had it all wrong, now I’m the one to forgive.
I like to make myself the victim of your mindless tricks,
but dear time, you’re only playing your perfect role
Because it’s my fault,
I’m the one that forgot how to forgive my soul.

gravelbar
Blacked out bean water, liquid lucidity
The city sees both sides of us, undressed emotion
We're constantly in motion, flung forward
Violent in our boredom, brooding over broken brooms
Our tombs will be made of limestone, come home prodigal son
Come undone around the seams and scream into the nothing
Life is blushing, in her youth, soon extracted, rotten tooth
Corpses in the kissing booth, braiding hair into a loose locket
Blue button birthed and flaunted, fell of for me to find
Loose thread keeps time over tea cups spilling
Come one, come willing, find my pulse in the dark
Watch the sparks pour out the window on a half smoked camel
****** well, devil dancing on dates and dark water
