This is the most expensive poem I will ever write
It cost more than you know to burn this bright
I’ll be using abstract character and archetypes
Bits and pieces of brilliant bright lights
You’ll get your monies worth
Of rhymes and rhythms
You’ll tell your family and friends a new muse has risen
Treasures will fill the coffers of your spirit’s journey

In the mitten
The ground rolls
In glaciers' paths
Her wooden teeth
Fertile and free
Beneath canopies
Of evergreen
Cravings breed
On beaches
Of golden sand
And freshwater seas
The beauty of erosion
Aesthetics genetic inclined
Mother Earth divine

Counterproductive to hold to the truth
I’m no saner today than I was in my youth
Was it a tragic display that I somehow suppressed
A malfunctioning brain that caved under stress
When things get too quiet the siren I hear
Drowns out the sounds that aren't really there...

I often laugh when life deals me pain
In times like these I sense I’m deranged
But it might be the mechanism that allows me to cope
When the champion of mayhem has me pinned to the ropes
And the drunkenness of the driver, my pilot within
Can't seem to escape the stench of my sins...

The bludgeoned end of reason is hot on my case
Threatening to smash me back into place
It’s these catch-22s that torture my mind
I keep growing older suspended in time
Still my biggest fear is my hindsight going dim
And coming around to trust this world once again...

Is it evil or is it right
The death we face at the end of life?
Is there peace and all knowing
Do we reap the seeds we're sowing

Hear now the reaper's reasoning
Dust and bones, vultures feasting
Driven by an unknown calling
Life to death is but a stalling

I can not tell, nor can I dream
I can not feel your suffering
I can not ease your loved one's grief
Nor can I confirm your disbelief...

I am only a Reaper, heartless and cold
I put the end to growing old!

Lighten up
Unfold your dresser
And celebrate
Clothes on the floor
Half open drawers
I dare you to give
Your clothes to the poor

Open your fridge
What’s in the back
That green hairy thing
Growing out of that bag
Let’s leave it there and celebrate
Break out that ice cream and cake

Get some colour outside the lines
Break the patterns that confine
Say something no one else has
With uneven versus
Cut the chorus in half

True creativity awaits outside the rules

Her star shines so bright around me
That I can’t believe my eyes
I wrote this poem about Her
She's the drug that gets me high

When shivers shake my body
And my heart begins to fail
She comes to me quite swiftly
Releasing me from hell

Stars cannot outshine her
Her love will never cease
I'll worship her to the bitter end
And observe her sacred creed...

You feel it slowly at first
The singeing of sanguine-pumped pain
Piercing the remnants of a drained soul
Spreading through those past-haunted veins

You grasp & claw for something, anything
Maybe it’s hope, or just some fresh air
Something to save you from the agony
But still you drown in the depths of despair

Living in a maze of contemplation
All these things that I've become
This web of karma

Every which way my spiders run

Perhaps a pill or
Some sort of medication

I dreamt about true love so deep I cried
So beautiful and unattainable, still I tried
I tried to hold on as long as I could

I found no comfort
Cradled in Mother’s arms
And I never believed Father
Could protect me from all harm…

So I should have seen it coming
A world without love
Empty of compassion, void of mercy
False faith in gods above…

Faceless now, nowhere now
Is my loveless yesteryears
Abandoned as the stepchild
Who pretends to disappear…

I found no comfort in
Studying ancient words
It all adds up to trusting in
Stories so absurd…

So take me now, wash me now
There’s nowhere now for these pieces that won’t fit
Force a square peg of logic in a round hole of superstition
And brokenness is what you’ll get…

Deep in my psyche
There's a poetry thirst

In wind storms of words

My heart is a desert
Of blistering heat

Would you eat
something called
a chicken dumping?

Beyond the light our demons bite
Our spirits gather in plasmatic flight
Upon entropy elementals feed
Used up magic, envy and greed

Portals open and bid us within
As we fight to regain our former sins
We are one yet containing all
Such is the force of kinetic law

A resonation of migrating souls
Not even the black stage can hold
Great White lodges, astral planes
Deities appear to rule and reign

Part I

We are not truly the light
if we hold others
in darkness

I tend to dimly shine

When this madness first set in
It only made sense
To search out a good diagnostician
Trustingly sharing my story
With strangers with degrees
Quickly realizing no clinician  
Could fix what's alien me

I search for someone wise and trained
Instead I found myself slowly drowning
In a system of judgmental rain  
My very heart and soul an open subject
Sharing my uncommon delusions
Over and over explaining
My poetic conclusions

Yet those who have never ever lived a rhyme
Are prone to leave the unexplained behind
Who simply label you from a book
Quickly stop reading and give you that look
A book of broken soul’s
They write ya a prescription and send ya home

Sweet eyes aglow
So kindly she smiles
My heart's been ridden
A million miles

In unison with time
The dust of day descends
Somewhere inside
We could all use a friend

In shadows of thought
Our psyche embraces

So subtle the mind
As the heart is fulfilled...

Invisible hands refuse my flight
Oh how I long for the wicked night
Yet time slips away no adrenaline flow
Killing me slowly starving my soul

Once I burned in passion bliss
To kick the bucket beyond the list
Experience gathered of blind ambition
To live forever without a mission

In an unknown space between the lines
Where gathering secrets erode the mind
I lived and lost the path of lies
No longer can I just survive...

Storm on my horizon
A change in weather grows
For me there is no shelter
These cold fronts bleed my soul

If only I could grasp
The kingdom come my way
Yet I find no shelter
No matter what I pray

So let those voices echo
As the wise and mighty fall
Suffering beyond the shelter
Of those superstitious laws...

In a memory
That I had forgotten
A flash appeared
Of a long ago
Deed so very rotten

It took my breath
As I took to flight
I could find no justification
Trapped within eternal night

Funny how we suppress
The memories that threaten
Our integrity
And somehow pretend
That that was never me

Yet now I must integrate
That shadow hour
Somehow forgive myself
Before my hell devours...

A poison mixed with selfish bliss
Safe, yet afraid of what we might have missed
Such answers dangle before our eyes
Our faces closed tight in foolish pride

While we pretend not to notice, they die in vain

Fear and oppression, stubborn as a mule
Poor and hungry beg, borrow and steal
Blinded by the greed of a broken land
As another lost child slips through our hands...

I stand for love
For I believe love
Holds the only remedy
After all everyone deserves
To live their live's in
A state of blissful dignity

My weary pen runs dry
As my word's frantically cry
What if it was you or I
Would a Poet love you
Enough to even try

Try and shed light
On your private hell
Even if it were to mean
This soul I must sell
Real love is where I live
Surely I was put here

In my callused hands

Of humanity

The ones who came

The Wishing Fairy simply

A star

Angelical whisper
Beyond the spectrum of sound
Speaks to the downtrodden
Where brokenness abounds
Surely there must be a reason
For living in this maze
Dead ends like lost lovers
Children gone astray …

To live the life of morals
To seek out happiness
To hold a dying friend
To forgive the Judas kiss
All last but a moment
Like an eternal fleeting glance
As we pray somehow forever

I am the one
The one who goes fourth
I find the fire
Then bring it back on a torch

The tribe gets annoyed
Because they like things dim
I had to learn to turn it down
This enlightenment within

I feed their fires slowly
With sparks of brilliant stars
Know that I'm not holly

I am on a mission
An oath of heart and mind
I pledge to do the right things
