Last night you came to me
Just a dream at three thirty-three
And then you kissed me
I almost felt your body
And when you held me
I couldn’t wake, I couldn’t flee
Because you love me,
They do not love you;
Because of your choice,
They despise you;
our love is an abomination,
Its a claim that they say is true;
They've got their beliefs,
We've got ours too;
forget not what the world needs,
Which is loving me and loving you;
And if the god they serve is true,
He will also love me and you.
I woke up alone,
In that King Sized bed,
Panicked that you had gone.
And then I realized
You had been gone
For a long time.
Were you ever really here
"So I'll probably **** myself,"
I said to you,
"But not until I'm 21 and can stain my lips red
And drink for real
And get so drunk I'll dance right off a cliff.
The rocks at the bottom will hug me so tight I'll split right open.
And then I'll never be able to hide any of it
It'll all be there for you to see.
Bleeding out."
You looked at me and all you said was
"Okay."

The forest is lush
in its offer of silence
Solitude dwelling
this path that we stroll

Crepe Myrtle borders
of pink satin petals
Trickling quiet
amidst evening’s lull

Lightening bugs linger,
a soft glow emitting
Shining the way
beneath branches above

All we can hear is
the sound of our heartbeats
Tranquil the rhythm
of whispering love
