We are not poets.
Nor are we artists.
         We are the bleeding hearts
                                                   Daring to rebel.
Society cuts this world into careful little blocks.
Devided by cold cut stones forced to comply.
And yet,
If you look a little closer, you will notice,
Not us, for you will never see our face
But you will see our fragments.
The pieces of us we leave behind for you
Scattered among these cold stone walls
Words we have carved into the stone
             With our own ****** nails.
                              Proof that we exsist.
                                               Proof that you can to.
So here we are,
                    Strings of letters
                                       And scattered lines,
All echoing the same war cry.
                          “We Are Here.”
                                                    "Are You?"

Do you ever have so many things to say,
but you don't have anyone to talk to.

If only I was there when you needed me,

and I am so sorry,
because you weren't alone.
Ever.
When letters wait
to pounce on a blank page
when thoughts crowd the mind
like frothing **** in a pond
I keep wondering
what poetry is to me
what poetry is to many

Is it not the language of the heart
with no intervention of gray matter
the unlocking of closed vaults
stirring the embers of love, hurt or pain
or giving a free rein to fancy
and flying on magic carpets
to lands forlorn

Sometimes it is
a glide into a sea of tranquillity
an escape from
the humdrum of the world
a flash of liberation
from assaults of pain
a sedative
to numb the turmoil
a sanctuary
for a burdened heart
a window
to look at the world through
a companion
when one is inconsolably alone
a candle flame
in a darkening world
a cloth line
to hang the ***** laundry
a water lily blooming
in the pool of tears
a shelter
in homelessness

sometimes it is a ladder
to climb up to Heavens
an angel on wings
with tidings of hope
peace in a world
braced for war

Poetry, if you are all these
let us fall at your feet
bless us in our art
may we splurge in fancy
and conjure up worlds from words!

our poems may not be light houses
but could be fireflies
on a starless night!
Thanks friends for the loving encouragement you have given! I must thank two of my friends in particular.... Kim Johanna Baker for giving an extra shine to my poem and Sarita Adhitya Varma for helping me post this poem when my repeated attempt at posting failed! She patiently directed me.
Sometimes life feels like
a punishment
Like it is this thing
that is keeping you,
Stopping your soul
from being intertwined
in the treetops
Or roaming free
in the waves
And dancing
in the wind

And then the guilt comes creeping
Shouldn't you be happy?
Shouldn't you be content?
You have so much
How dare you ask for more?

Silhouette dreams of a peaceful world
Born with the gift of consciousness.
Washing over with fear and decay
From these powers' egoistic callousness.

They don't know who we really are
They don't know our aspirations!
Every moment should be cherished
We're our own administrations!

Our minds have abilities not yet realized
We're being held back from our true potential.
Visual stimuli to distract from oneness
But we must come together, that's essential.

Talk of revolution but, all it is: just words
We aren't going to win with just phone screens.
World peace isn't found in a text or emoji;
It's in us, most of us are kindhearted beings.

Our revolution will be a new seed,
One not fallen from a tree of war.
War begets war, and so history repeats
This cycle can go no more.

Revolution rooted in peace?
An unreasonable request, to say the least.
No matter the hardships, or the struggles
It must happen, lest our freedom be deceased.
A blue moon loomed in the sky tonight,
everyone watched you in awe
as you shined so bright.
Did you miss us, dear?

My love who now dwells in the skies,
your sufferings have come to an end.
Worry not about us anymore
for we're happy you've found peace in paradise.

Do come to us once again
in the form of the stars or the quiet rain,
falling gently from heaven.
Let us feel your love once more

We miss you,
but it is time to let you go
dance happily with the angels if you may,
fly high, precious one.
you'll always live in our hearts. thank you, kjh.
All I wanted was a rose
A reason
why you loved me on every red petal
A strong
Green stem to show the strength of our bond

But in reality
The rose died
The petals wilted and faded
and the stem went hard...

Much like your love for me
