galaxy of myths
At night, when the sky is darkest,
just before the glow of dawn,
I think of you. Pitter patters
of memories, right down
to the curve of your smile,
the fluttering of lashes,
your refreshing curiosity, like a child;
reviving them before they turn to ashes.
Add daydreams to these memories.
With wishes and dreams,
love, humour and fantasies;
bursting at the seams.

What is it like, to be a part of you?
You are a godsend, a blessing.
My dear, nothing compares to you.
You are as smooth as a dark satin,
as precious as gems on a king's crown.
Oh my, more precious perhaps.
You are flowers blooming all year round,
as joyous as a baby's first few steps.
You are as eloquent as a scholar,
with looks blessed by Aphrodite,
as humorous as a jester,
and you are a star to me.

A life-long dream, manifested in a body.
Who would've thought it'd come true?
Your presence makes me
fearless, safe as being on a plateau.
I can conquer anything;
even my nightmares and insecurities.
The painful past I carry doesn't sting
as much when you're here, Achilles.
Perhaps it is a mistake
to adore you this much. But oh,
it is a risk I'm willing to take.
Especially when you give me this much hope.

I pray that one day,
our matched souls will meet
at the gates of heaven.
I will finally get to speak
these words of love I've written;
to unleash my undying thirst for you.
Maybe we'll get to dance among
the stars I've whispered to.
And we'll all shine brightly.
Our reunion will be rejoiced,
with me in your arms safely;
and close the book on our story.

Every morning he woke up minutes before she did and would listen to the low hum of every breath exiting her nose.
She would flip from her side to her back and the beige covers rustled like dry autumn leaves.
She would moan as she stretched with her arms outwards, fists balled, and her legs high up in the air.
Then, she would turn to him, whisper sweet nothings, and swing her body towards the side of the bed.
The sound of her light feet pattering on the wood floor always made him laugh.

But now his house is haunted.

The walls seem to murmur intrusive thoughts into his head.
The floor rattles beneath his feet like a snake giving a warning.
The glass shakes in the window panes at any slight breeze, mimicking gunfire.
The water from his sink gushed from the faucet with such great speed that it rung against the white hollow porcelain.

She wasn't there anymore.
There's poetry in broken hearts.

yes,
you can kiss
my rose petal eyelids
my stained cheeks
my humming neck
my willing waist
my burning skin
anywhere on
my restless body
but kiss my lips,
and I'll spend the
rest of my life
aching
grieving
searching for
your stinging tongue

  fate assured me
   we'd burn violently
    but ultimately suns die
     every flame grows tired
      every bulb will break
      every wick will drown
     charred and regretful
    weary and worn out
   drained of energy
  choking for air
i'm not ready
to ignite
just yet
it is inevitable

I’m alone.
My future, deceiving.
Longing for a grip.
I’m crying for help,
but everyone seems to have their headphones in.

he stood on his empty,
cheap soap box
and proclaimed, proudly:
"poetry is for the writers, not for the readers"

sorry, but i disagree.
see the way that you have
connected with me
through nine simple words
and provoked enough thoughts to fill entire encyclopedias with the eternal dilemma of the human soul.

no, i don't agree;
for i write for myself
but i also write for thee.

Is it true?
Does my name
Drift in the wind?
Over the mountains
And across the sea?
Does it fade
From your mind?
Like a visitor who
Has overstayed
Their time?
Do the memories
Recede to the back
Of your mind?
Like the sun leaving
the day behind?

just once I looked
out of the oval window
high in the sky
To see tiny figures below
making dances out of the
snake-line of car lights

It was all flat,
and blackness swooned in over
the view,
A reflection showing back to me
all the hairs that stood their ground

I am overly kind to people who don’t need it.
I’ve been walked on while I roll myself out like a carpet—
so other’s feet don’t get wet.
With a complete disregard for the fact,
that I’ll soak myself to the bone in the process.
Nobody needs that amount of self-sacrificial kindness— it gets weird.
