I always say that I let it slip away.

But that's not really true.

Because unfortunately,
To have let something slip away.

Means I would have had it in my grasp to begin with.
Write a letter. Stuff it away. Wonder what it did. Even to this day.

K I R A
I've forgotten the rush of pen to paper
I've diluted the taste of every life saver
I wanted to feel freedom from heartache
but couldn't feel as thought it was just a mistake
I need to write to feel alive
Letting out the toxins I use to survive
Breathing out my brains archive
Feeling free once again
Level headed and zen
Pen to paper I feel
Pen to paper shows emotions are real

Preventing contamination,
A constant challenge in cell culture.
Contamination not only affects,
The culture in question and,
Costs time and money,
But also endangers the reproducibility of results.

No cell culture problem,
Is as universal as that of culture loss
Due to contamination.

Generally, contamination may be separated,
Into categories of microbial,
And eukaryotic contamination.

Examples of microbial contamination include:
Bacteria (including Mycoplasma),
Fungi and yeast;
Eukaryotic contamination includes:
Cross-contamination with other cell lines.

Bacteria, yeast and fungi,
The three more common types of contamination,
But luckily these forms are often detectable,
Under the microscope and,
By visual cues,
Like colour or turbidity changes in the medium.

Mycoplasma is a small genus of bacteria,
That lack a cell wall and for this reason,
They remain unaffected by common antibiotics.
They are also difficult to detect,
With standard microscopes,
Due to their size, about 0.1 μm in diameter,
And the fact that they often attach to host cells.

To prevent contamination,
Use 70% ethanol for disinfecting,
Equipment & surfaces,
Related to cell culture.
Sterile filter the media first,
Before bringing to the lab.

Fetal Bovine Serum,
A potential source of contamination,
Contains mycoplasma.
Filter it at 0.1 μm, or,
Gamma irradiate it.
Aseptic technique,
Necessary.

The laboratory workers be the last,
But not the least source of contamination.
Teach them the ideal laboratory practices,
To ensure asepticity in a laboratory.

It felt vain to believe
any possible attraction
you could have felt towards me.

I, full of various defects
could not have possibly
caught your eye.

I, tainted and full of sins
could not have aroused
any emotions of passion,
love and devotion.

The rotating cogwheels of my mind
could not fathom how any man
could look me in the eyes
and romantically declare
his undying love to me.

But you did .

the fire of your defiance burnt your name
into my tongue. a caffeinated elixir
scalding as coffee, smooth as milked almond.

a rebel amidst the fray, hair pink as bubble-gum.

i am as scorched as the earth left
in the wake of predator drones, but i yearn
to hold you beneath a moon of blood

and cover this city in red and black paint-bombs.

your eyes are the espresso at the beginning
of a long day, a pick-me-up, a reminder
that human beings are the works of art

wrought by the hydrogen of a hundred billion suns.
An ode to a fascinating human being.

Sometimes I wonder,
Should I wander?
Should I leave this world,
Should I become a ghost of my being?

Then I remember,
I already am a ghost.
My memories and feelings are existing too much
too little.
I'm living,
not living.

You don't have to convince me you're perfect.
Oh, please - I already know that.
Unique? An understatement, you
Are a diamond in a field of weeds.
Roses are red, violets are blue, but you make me feel
Every color.

Beauty, thy name is you.
Everyone knows it but you.
A simple smile and infectious laugh is all it takes to
Unveil your true inner beauty.
Though, you may just think I have cooties.
I know that you may think I'm silly or dumb, but
**** it - maybe it's part of my "charm."
Underneath this sarcastic wall, you'll find my heart in a
Locker.

Banter – it’s the best part of our conversations.
Even the insults and digs and salt. You’re
A fountain of charm; your beauty effortlessly
Ubiquitous.
Take it from me, there aren’t many people like
You.

Talking to you is like cracking a safe, I don’t know
How to do it. I’d spend years and
Years before I worked up the skill and charm to crack you.

******. That what you are;
A hot ball of fire, divine and intriguing,
My hands very well could get burned, but
Everything would be worth it if I got to hold you.

Is what I’m saying silly?
Sure, but that’s why you like it.

Jazz. That’s what you are;
Eclectic and musical, soft and
Seductive; sweet-sounding and beautiful,
So effortlessly easy to listen to.
Read the first letter of each line when finished.

Do I love you
Or do I just love the thought of you?
The thought of you with me
Is this just an illusion my rotting heart has drawn
For it to have a reason to keep beating?

Is love a lie
Or just my idea of love?

Do I hold your hand
Just for the feeling of your warmth
Or because I care?
Does the thought of you keep me up at night,
Because I need you
Or because I need comfort?

Is passion my drug
And you're just a relapse?

Do I love you?
Do I really love you?
Did I really love you?
