A Migrant's Tale
Soulquarians, gather round. Hear my testimony. Representin’ Chi town to the fullest. Given the Name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, I earned the name Common. I am, put on this stage for a purpose. My verses give you, common sense. I am, the role model to the past, Present and, future. Being the Loquacious man I am, I am, Finding forever in you. So, keep me In your mind because my time, is Unforgettable. Unforgettable I am. I speak with clarity. Satisfying your starving eyes as I, Feed you knowledge. I am, That reflecting image in that young Persons mirror. Watching them loose Motivation. And it’s sad cause’, we got arms, But wont reach for the skies. Our ignorance is in the same breath as Our innocence, subconsciously, seeking to Find an impressionable mind to convince. I found one. Mani. One who is beautiful And sweet. She told me, your lyrics inspire Me. You are the rarest piece of finery, And I would hate to lose you. She said, Find forever in me. Lay upon me, Your exquisite gift of poetry. She said, I remember sittin’ in my room With my boom box bangin’ so loud, That your rythmatic vibrations caused The pictures on my wall to form a New image. Listening to the game over, and over, And over until my ears were filled With beats that flowed from my pen, And onto my sheet, of paper. Papers, stacked so high with the words, I love Common. Common. Nonsense, Is what we’re seeing these days. So, If you find the pursuit of passion, Use it. I am, here to restore our black maybe. Cause’ maybe, we’ll get to the top Someday. Instead of having our opinions Stored away. Cause’ you see, common Sense is quite rare. But, those that doubt Com will soon believe. That- This is where, Forever begins. The start of reality. Wars and battles, we Fought for ours, caught in ghetto tragedy. Remember black brothers and sisters, Origin is forever. Through these brown eyes Are beholding black pride. So strive. Strive. I, see my worlds tears, and I, want to wipe, their weary eyes. I will be finding Forever in you. I am Common.

Torna a decir, Morena, cuanto decías. Torna a decir, Morena, tu canción. Torna a decir, Morena, tu luz y tu mentira. 1 Torna a decir, Morena, tu dolor único. Si eres ajena, dáme tus labios secos. Si fueras mía yo te hurtaría los labios húmedos. 2 Torna a decir, Morena, tu dolor. Si eres ajena, dame tus labios, dame; Si fueras mía te daría mi compasión. 3 Torna a decir, Morena, torna, torna a decir. Torna a decir, morena, tu rapsodia. Danza, Morena. Danza, mi Tanagra, mi Figulina: el sobrio cuerpo ondula: tras de tus siete velos recatada, si eres ajena, te veré desnuda... Mas si eres mía, oh Mía, danza sin velos, danza: Gautama soy, Gautama, el propio Budha!

There is little here in this sun-scaped city to press a frown onto my face. I feel free I've lost ten pounds my skin is smooth I bought new fashionable clothes and I laugh more than ever before, and that is what people see, will amber annex buster dani skyla rashid duane kiki chase adrianna all these new people who laugh at my funny name only see this happy smiling girl who is kind and quick to help and make jokes and dance and offer advice and yet despite the freedom I feel it comes with equal parts guilt. have I ever smiled so much before? The me people meet now is so new to me it feels like a lie it's nice of you to ask me on a date but how could I tell you the horrors of my past? with all this smiling you'd never believe the years of frowns and tears no one would think to look for the lines where you can see my burn scars they wouldn't look at my differently when I trace old bruises they don't think to be careful when touching me they don't have a clue and it's all I've ever wanted to have people think nothing is wrong for me to be like the other girls, but now that that's what people see, my smiles though real make me feel like I'm lying to everyone around me.

Hello, My Name Is-
Sharp keen, like a line is me  But in linen you circle behind, like wind  Thin palms and those long fingers I wave towards you.. Oh mistress! Why do not you come near  Next to me are your features ! Blended, bonded in the essence of love And sharp eyes what mine gets? Thirst of you, and that smile you pour from ******* of love  Gather ye! Upon me madness, I flee  That to read you like a poem  But the dream was gone , I woke. Rashid ~

Sharp keen love
In United Arab Emirates' land, In a kingdom of the golden sand, There dwells a generous humble king To whose kindness all mortals sing: "What a kingdom the last fair and free, What a King as gentle as a halcyon sea, What a realm, what a mighty paradise Unmarred by mist of prejudice, For every person's race is worth, Such, such a wonderland on earth!" In United Arab Emirates' land, In a Kingdom of the golden sand Where there are lofty towers, Towers thrice fairer than wild flowers, A realm where greenery once rarely seen But now resplendent in emerald green By whom aI wonder the magic, the art, For the creator used to mold his heart That renders despaired men wings to fly, Glance upon rainbows of hope in the sky. In United Arab Emirates' land, In a kingdom of the golden sand, There clouds of harmony and peace Float on forever for all eyes to see, See the wit and wisdom of a humble king To whom may we garlands bring! He whose good deeds shall stream by forever Like as silvery waters of the Nile river, Yet, eternally as the ancient star's glow, Or the merry winds that ever blow From eastern shores to the western clime, So shall his glory transcend through time, Echoing a courteous, gracious King whom I'm proud to call, "Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum."
