Decrepid
I watch you spy their futures
Scooping dreams with sillky fingers
Far too frail to dig,
Fear not,
The sweat from my brow will bring us life.
Sustaining and sweet
Care not,
Though you can not see them.
The huming birds sing
Onoma Mar 2016
Wisps of fog dragged
upon the ground, as errant
raindrops bided gray time.
Eyes fixed afield, sharing
an inertness that revitalized
our gray matter.
Robins and blackbirds scattered
their weightless will upon the
damp field.
As nearly imperceptible twinges of
sunlight interrupted the air, then
vanished.
This occurred in confidences, everytime the sunlight gained
upon itself.
The fog began burning off in
decrepid scraps...put asunder
by the field's thundering
anticipation.
The fog was lifted to spring's hierarchies of light...as blackbirds
electrified puddles in a flurry of
wings.
Spraying droplets of water
adorning the sunlight, then flying to
a favored branch shaking dry.
Eyes fixed afield, I was showered below
by accolades of rebirth.

I am such a rediculous being
look in the mirror without even seeing,
a decrepid image is all I can see,
is this thing really me ?
chipped away at all the years,
nothing to show but frozen tears,
how dare I think or even be,
sink back into the hollow me.

it was a dull december
diseased with grey and fog,
making the town look
decrepid
dilapitated
pathetic.
and that dull december sun,
so tired and miserable,
may have risked unemployment
if his employers hadn't been just as
agonized
exhausted
hopeless.

Your Heart is my Home.
Your Soul is my Shelter.

Your Will is my Way.
Your path, I would take.

I would follow you anywhere.
Become an extension of you.

I would follow you anywhere.
Your property, sold right from the start.

You could have owned me.

But it's not to be...
The deals gone and fallen through.

I've been reposessed, and left homeless.
This was farce right from the start!

My love you do not reciprocate.

Turns out I was a squatter all along.

Occupying a Building,
Left abandoned & decrepid.
A Home without a Heart.

i once dreamt of forever after
                                               happily
until those words you spoke
                                              drifted
against my confessing whisper that frightened you
                                             away

the weight was, to say the least,
                                           unbearable
i reached into my own chest for
                                          reassurance
but instead found a decrepid box
                                          full up
of misremembered moments
                                         of lies
Death-throws Feb 2017
18 months in a brick shed  with a tin roof
6 more in a wood box too cramped  to breathe
Another year
Living in fear
In a room with no lock
And in 3 more weeks
I'll get my own place
No doors that don't close
No windows that don't open

I spent three years of my life in moldy decrepid rot
And now after removing a thot
I find myself in a happy space
A dog named squirt and  a kitchen two steps wide
My girlfriend looking at me with pride
4 months ago I'd never imagine
That today's the day  I move to my own
Mansion
Kenneth Gray Nov 2020
I took you at a glance that day
And met you with a kindly nod
Although you a strictly tried
to hide your evil,
I unraveled your facade
You think you can deceive us
"Simple folk" with your bodacious ***
But babe, I know of your decrepid soul
I promise this on God

You strut yourself around this world
Up on your pedestal
You harbor your self righteousness
And think you're "oh so cool"
You think the world should worship you
And see you as if you're a dazzling jewel
But I hate to burst your bubble gal
Cause you're one conceded fool!

Don't try and dance around the truth
And lie your way to goddess status
Cause after all is said and done
You're definitely no Trish Stratus
Your well thought out ruse just
Stands no chance when your heart is filled with malice
Girl, you're a mortal just like us -
You weren't delivered in a palace
So come back down to planet earth
And relieve us of this madness!
Just a goofy little poke at fun I came up with while brain storming.

It's not bad what we had.
Waiting is a drag.
I'll be a decrepid old hag.
I look ok now,
But I don't want to brag.
Can you see the moon from this room?
Use your brain so I don't have to stress & strain. Just because you gave and gave,
don't make me your life long slave.
Be brave, with your money try to save.
Don't squander & misbehave.
Don't live life in a cave.
Choose a path to pave.
See this is my "good bye" wave.
Who's is this phone number?
It's not mine.........******.
They stole my thunder.
Makes me wonder...

"I want to be just like you,"
I say to the decrepid old man.
"Just like you someday."

His laugh is raspy and thin
"My boy," he manages between his coughs,
"What is there left to desire?"

My giggle is the sound of songbirds
and churchbells ringing.

"Your eyes are bright,
they speak of hope and love.
Your mind is sharp,
full of lessons and wisdom.
Your mouth is tilted,
always curved into a slight smile.
Your wrinkles are deep,
laugh lines from years of use."

"But, my boy," he responds
in a gentle tone,
"My body is weak,
my hair is grey,
my brain forgetful,
and my money is none."

"And yet," I press,
"your gaze is soft,
your regrets are few,
your patience endless,
and your forgiveness infinite."

"And because of that," I conclude, "I want to be just like you."
As cheesy as it sounds, always look for the beauty within.

I spite an unlawful god
What vile plague bequeath you unto our own
What first arrogance spawn forth from what you've sown

Oh nature so corrupt it filth with ills
A table drench-ed with foul fluid it spills

My bread my chew inedible it is harmed by liquid of deceit

Oh crowned with you are of unbearable conceit

Murderer
******
Torturer
*******

Denier of love pleasure and of what is sure

Implied the cost of your decrepid plight

Oh stained drunk-ed upon what so impure

Grave digger and soil buries of such born light

If what challenges you challenges of said impurity

Then let dote of respect unto it's surity

May this falling, fallen star liberate the hearth and hell you have created

Let fall to shambles floor of villain you have slain

Sweet angel star
Say you'll love me again!

Go quietly go peacefully
Into the night; into
those dark places
Go alone. No witnesses.

Approach the troubled lurker
In the decrepid corners of your
Broken being. Follow his lead.
Keep it silent; keep it secret.

Fall, drive, swallow, cut
The numbness out
Leave your soul. Leave a note
Kiss the ones that tried to love you.
But dont look back.

Disappear. refuse to try.
Im giving up. There are no
Winners in this ether.
I will be a fool no longer.

Like the still ocean
Waves so gentle
Sweeping the shores
The gentle rustle comes to still
tideless waters come to rise
Moonlit crescents fall
shallow tides endless light
Betrays no hearts for no single purpose
For the oceans floor hides no secret
Decrepid yet whole
No reason is beyond that which lies in the hidden deeps
For all to seek yet so few to find

— The End —
