It's the tree, full of color
Vibrating blue and green
Shining on a luminous night
Enhancing the brilliant scene
This oak tree once,
was a little nut
which steadfastly held the ground
Now, it bears and blooms
Breaking all the bounds!
Or maybe this tree
was planted by the old man
who knew he was never,
To sit beneath the shade
He had master prosperity
Indeed!
now this tree, is more
It's the squirrel's home
It's a mother of fruits
It provides shades to the ones
Traveling unknown routes!

like the sky without stars,
like a tree without roots,
like a dog without its owner,
like an ocean without water,
i'm lost without you.

i remember this time years ago where the trees were full
i look at pictures and the trees have green beauty
now i look outside and they are naked
as my soul screeches i feel exposed,
just as the trees do
the wind blows and it goes right through them
if it's strong enough it will knock them down
a bird cannot hide
a bird cannot be protected
a bird cannot make a nest
without something disturbing it
i feel for the trees
they're ruined!
once a long time ago the trees were beautiful and full
they now sit,
barren and troubled.
i am the trees

"I'm taller now"
the building said
"I'm older" the tree replied
"A hundred years ahead!"

"I carry humans"
The building spoke
"Provide shelter too!"
Oh dear Mr. Tree! What do you do?

"I bear fruits"
The tree told
"I'm a home to the birds"
Oh Mr. Building! This is what I do

"Ah! I'm stronger!"
The building argued
"I'm made of bricks and stones
Oh dear Mr. Tree! How strong are you?"

"I've lived the storms"
The tree responds
"On me the flowers bloom!
My dear brother! I'm whey stronger than you"

"It's the humans I carry"
The building added
"The ones that planted you!"
Now who's important? Me or you!

"I allow them to breath"
The tree sighed
"I give them fresh air!
Yet cutting me down
Is their very pride"

The building now was hushed
Not a single word
All his pride crushed
Now it felt absurd!

When reduced to a body
By the man who held my worth
I thought
"This is what an apple tree feels
When reduced to paper"

A sower
     A seed
A root
     Of the tree
A forest is the poet

A harvest
     A trove
A cherry
     Of the grove
Sweetness is the poet

A feather
     A wing
A flight
     Of the spring
A sparrow is the poet

A swarm
     A bee
A buzz
     In the tree
A sting is the poet

A puzzle
     A haze
A fog
     In the maze
A mystery is the poet

I sat down with grandmother oak
there on a blanket she had woven
of clovers and sweet violets
where the fat bees cobble about.
She wrapped me in her scented boughs
and gently held all parts of me –
the flesh, the brittle fragments,
the embers, the salt water and the bone –
with soft and steady breaths she blew
the shadows from my shoulders
and asked only in return of me
that I might be with her a while and,
in ancient, long-forgotten psalms,
that she might sing me home.

you
The apple falls from the tree.
You were gone like a breeze
Do you recall sailing free?
Like we always used to in my dreams

Did you fall from the sky?
Where were you when we were getting high
Did you step under the sun?
I can only see you when it’s dark
