Can you remember?
The dreams we shared when we were young
I can remember
The times we spent as we were one
So much fun

You made the sun
Come out and shine on rainy days
Ain't it strange
How the years quickly past away
Not without pain

Can you remember?
War called me away from home
That cold December
Married outside in the snow
****, It was cold

I am reminded
Home from war and on our own
Those were the tough days
Cash came in way to slow
We were alone

Now in our eightys
We've shared our live's as one
Now we can sit back
And watch the rising sun
I'm still in love

Can you remember?
The dreams we shared when we were one
We raised our sons
Sixty years have come and gone

I can remember
The dreams we had when we were young
I wouldn't change one moment
And baby, your still the only one
I wrote this about my Great Grandparents.

my parents taught me
opposites don’t just attract
they also connect

There is a lion up above embedded in the stars.
At midpoint between the stars and the sea, flashes a green light.
Slightly above sea level are two people sharing conversation.
And below in the deep sea are two fish tied together.

The lion roared filling the girl up with interest.
The fish stirred up the current making sure his conversation remains interesting.
The green light flashed brighter with each passing second.
Making sure they remained safe and the night remains lit.

They connected on that night.
Soul, heart and mind.
The attraction was there.
But only poems could reveal what they felt.

Forbidden and forsaken.
Yet still driven towards each other.
Old souls re connected.
Ancient feelings re visited.

I forgot how
we found each other-
all I know is that since then,
I've been feeling a lot less lost
and a lot less empty.

“You changed my life for the better.”

Sitting across from one another,
on a quiet summer afternoon,
Papa spoke to Ma.

“I became better, because of you.”

My eyes widened.

“I would’ve been lost without you.”

I tiptoed away.

“It didn’t happen suddenly,” she chuckled.

Comfortable silence blanketed the two.

I’m glad that I chose you.”

Draws you into her
Go don't return we are done
Closed up her heart     burn
What at one time was the greatest love of my life was also the greatest tragedy of my life. She regulates her love, pulling you in dot keep. Then pushs you out off the cliff into the cold water deep, ice in her eyes frozen seems her heart, I saw it melt when her defenses were down that was before she ripped mine apart.  Some can repair breaks like this but to her she shutdown forever to be missed, hope she is well I dont know why, I should a mean and spiteful guy. But that's not me I never have been, I have too much love I cant give in.

his eyes were so many hues of gray
and i didnt quite understand back then
how they could fill me with color
but a hundred lifetimes later, oh
i know its because theyre a half of a whole
and i always come to know them
far better than my own

this time around, i remember
every other monster we've slain
and every other story we've told
but every time, every time
ive fallen back onto eyes
that are so many hues of gray
soulmates. in every life
