Like a prayer,
Sing the song of life,
Recite the oath of humanity,
Give yourself away to a noble cause!

Like a prayer,
Wear your smile,
Give greetings,
Speak softly and kindly!

Like a prayer,
Cuddle someone’s sorrow,
Soothe their pain, touch their soul,
Render services to the public!

Like a prayer,
Nourish your body,
Exhibit your best qualities,
Pour your heart into your job!

Like a prayer,
Fill your heart with compassion,
Make your soul a temple of love,
Nurture your thoughts with creative ideas!

Every time
You'd see me with a sad face
You'd tell me to smile
Every time
I seem moody
You'd tell me to smile
And when you know that  I won't smile
You'd end up doing the things that will make me smile

You said my smile
Was my biggest attraction
But little did you know
My smiles are all because of you
Griddle Nov 2019
I refuse to stand still
And wait for the sun to shine on me
I’ll move so fast and free
That the sun will be forced to follow
Lets take flight
We have a world to see
Just you and me
Living out our dreams

Have you seen my granny?
She shoots like Johnny Wayne,
Smokes cigarettes like Garbo,
Sings like Kelly in the rain.

She's doubtless at the movies
Watching Audrey zip 'round Rome,
And wishing she were young enough
To run away from home.

My nana laughs like Rita,
Plays chess like Steve McQueen,
She smoulders like her heroes do
Up on that silver screen.

Have you seen my granny?
She loves Bogart and Bacall,
And in her dreams forever
She is blonde and six-foot tall.
Third verse NOT a team player. Will revisit. Gotta go!

‘Movies, to him and the majority of the planet, are an enhancement to a life. The way a glass of wine complements a dinner. I’m the other way around. I’m the kind of person who eats a few bites of food so that my stomach can handle the full bottle of wine I’m about to drink.’

it’s my fault really
I gave you the sticks
Taught you how to throw the stones
and you broke me .
