There once was a man
Who lived a "good" life
He worked through all trials
Temptation and strife

He lived very humbly
Never wished to be rich
Was good to his neighbours
Nothing bad passed his lips

He said, " God look at me!
I am worthy of praise!
I am without sin
But not by your grace...

For I am an atheist
And I don't need Christ
Humans provide
All their own good advice."

Then there was another
Who, quote, "lived for God"
But he looked upon sinners
as though they were odd...

He said, " God, I thank thee
That I'm not like them
For I walk uprightly
No, I do not sin...

And when I get to heaven
The praise shall be loud!
I'll walk right in
And I'll be so proud!"

Then there was a woman
Who'd give her last dime
That she could use drugs
And drink her sweet wine

But she cried, " Lord!
Please have mercy on me!
For I am so wretched!
So unworthy of thee!

I'm not all that clean
And I shout at folks
I drink and do drugs
And God help me, I smoke!

But, Lord, I am trying!
I want so much to change!
Please come into my heart
And my life rearrange..."

Then came the time
When all of them died
And the woman in heaven
Saw the men with such pride

In eternal torment
They cried out, "Lord!
We kept all your precepts
And sin we abhorred!

Why is that woman
Up there with you?
She so unfaithful
And she so untrue!

But Jesus said sadly,
"Yes, you were "good".
You had that advantage
Yet misunderstood.

I did not want works.
That's not what I bid.
You gave not your hearts,
But this woman DID
.

I was always there knocking
But death cut like a knife
I gave you your chance...

YOU HAD YOUR WHOLE LIFE.

This poem may not be very popular
To some people here.
But I must state what I believe.
The only way to righteousness
Is through the shed blood
of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Nobody is good enough to go to heaven.
There is sin in one and all including me.
But Jesus paid the price for my sins
Upon the cross at Calvary.
God will no longer hold me accountable for them. That does not mean I can sin.
It simply means that I AM COVERED.
Now the process of sanctification
Is occurring in me. I'm not perfect
By any means. But I have changed drastically. I am no longer the same person I was before.

The time is short. There are people
Who need to read this.
Please understand
I'm coming from a place of love!
The God I serve is great and merciful!
He just wants you to open the door...

HE'S BEEN KNOCKING A LONG TIME.

is the life of one person
worth a family's freedom?
is the life of seven people
worth a kingdom's liberation?

after a life was stolen from me,
i deemed this to be proper payment.
but after stealing six lives,
i suddenly have found myself
hesitant to take a single step further.

you long for home, so you have journeyed this far.
we have longed for something akin to a new home.

but the look in your eyes say,
even if it meant you could see your family again,
you would not steal another life.

so then, why have i carried on this long,
pushing along this false sense of righteousness
alone?
i've been playing undertale lately. if you haven't seen/played a full playthrough of this game this poem is actually spoilery.
but i just felt like putting something together, this isn't really a good poem imo.
if you have no intentions of playing/watching undertale... this is a story about a king

deep sigh*
A tear falls from his eye
"Good bye"
Until next time.
Where there's no time.
And yet all time, time to stand up!!!
And believe!
Then with this, you will receive
All the tools to achieve
Your Holymasterpeace
Your hold is Dastardly
The boldest pastor speaks,
Forth from-with-which we dabble in
Spirits blasphemous
Capture this...

Rapture the aperture
My God is a carpenter
Building a kingdom here
Inside of this atmosphere
Clearly you too are here.
Heard
& really revered
Didn't revert to the curse
Sneered on his belly from in the dirt
Your heel,
shut him up.
So Father  fill me up!
So I can "go..."
I'm
Omw
I'm just moving slow...

And so the story goes
Play on spelling pretty clear I think

Jesus he's my savior
He lived near Galilee
I know about his ministry
And of his great love for me

He sought out his disciples
They followed him blindly
He loved the poor and healed the sickly
And he helped the blind to see

I know that he's my savior
He died to set me free
Each day I love him more, his disciple I will be
As I walk the path of righteousness and spirituality
To the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon"

The name the views and beliefs expressed in this piece are not, in any way, intended to be a reflection or representation of the Righteous Bros or Peter Paul and Mary's "Puff the Magic Dragon"

I do not own the rights to the song or bands. That said: this is an original!
Some people will never know
How good it feels to have a righteous soul
Some people will never understand
What it means to be the bigger man
Some people can't contemplate
How wonderful it is not to hate
But you and i are one and the same
And righteousness is the name of our game
tribute to all those who have turned the other cheek in their time
Dont lift a finger to help your adversary
See where this doctrine will get you
Your enemy will only assist you rarely
So why should you ever assist them too?
Because he as a man (or herself a woman)
Does not hate you so much
That he, or she, is willing to pound his or her humanity into the dust
She can oppress my devoted affection
She can scorn when i show her love,
She can see through my hopeless intention
She knows what sins i’m made of
She can reject me when i woo
She can show me out the door
And again i know what i must do
And i again, will love her forevermore
love me in my petty sleep, for i'll be with you soon
Love me in my coma creep, love me like the moon.
Glorify my name as i would have done for you
Petrify the trespassers, I would have done that too.
Now forgive me as i pass on to my next life
For i could not have forgiven you, had you turned out my wife
