I know that when I hear the sound
Of falling wood that hits the ground
I think of a tree so innocent
An axe in it making a dent

I wish I could help, but no
They're chopped in sunshine, rain, or snow
The mean old men would stop and quarrel
Never thinking of the bird or squirrel

Down fall the trees
And all the bees
Are mad at men
For smashing their den

I know that when I hear the sound
Of falling wood that hits the ground
I'll know that not just the trees
End up falling to their knees

Protect Trees!

-Hailey A.
I made this poem a while ago. No, I don't care all that much about trees, but it's important to know that when a tree is chopped down, so is an animal's home.

She took her time crafting you,
And always remember that every dime she made would go to you.
Her darling little angel,
You aren't even here yet but she loves you unconditionally already.

She is keeping on my toes, knowing never to cause trouble;
She doesn't want you to have a mama that is a criminal.

She'll always be carefully; not taken any chances with her unborn angel.

Even when she becomes a wreck,
And worries about all the unpredictable situations that shall come along,
She remember she'll do everything for her sweet unborn child.

She will always protect, and very neglect,
Even now, even when the sweet cry's become voiced into this world,
And she'll get to see her small one open it's eyes.

She makes a promise to herself,
That her darling unborn child will be loved no matter what.
Something sweet, and more positive compared to my other pieces.

I hiked to the peak of a mountain.
Where I saw the salty sea,
Glorious with clear water,
And you were its guardian.
Your eyes pierced into mine.
You saw into my heart and knew I meant no harm.
I was only thirsty from my hike.
So, you held my hand firmly, led me to your heart,
And I bathed.
The water consumed my sorrows.
It seeped into my skin,
Into every pore.
I was reborn,

Until the moment I died again.
Two heavy palms smashed into my shoulders,
And pushed me underwater.
Your poker face could not be broken.
Your grip was strong as steel.
I fought until my body gave up,
And my lungs screamed.

The sand burned my back as air filled my chest again,
And I saw your poker face, broken.
It reminded me of a child's
So full of pain,
After breaking his favorite doll,
And his father breaking him for playing with dolls.
Then I felt the water brush me once more,
And my lungs screamed again.
It escaped my mouth,
But you put your index finger on my lips and hushed me.
You used no words; you only hushed me.
Silence won over.
This time,
You cleansed my skin with the water that once tarnished me.
You healed my wounds, and kissed my forehead.
You were now my guardian,
As I floated with life again.

But will you keep me afloat next time I wanted a drink?

a devil
a devil
a godforsaken devil

you take her hopes
you hold her dreams
you shatter them into pieces

she has given you her heart
something that I know is not easily given.
She has shown you her weaknesses, her loves,
Something she protects with her life

And you've thrown it all away?
Without a second glance at the stress fractures you've created on her body?

You've taken a priceless blessing,
a rare thing of beauty
and brushed it to the side
like a cat bats its toy.

Let me tell-no.
Let me promise you
That if you even think about playing with her a moment longer
If you have a single though of getting away with this

You're wrong.

I will give my life to protect her.

Hordes of metaphorical oracles awaken me from sleep
Dreams of paralysis, lost inside the deep
Rabbit hole analysis meets a descent so steep
While these Prodding thoughts got me tripping over my own feet
Interpretations or revelations what does it mean?
How long can one last existing inside of this scene?
Wide eyes lids closed coincide with winter snow
shallow breath heavy toll watching bodies decompose
presence felt, identity unknown, an experience to shake the bones.
Straining to take quick control, interpretations from the occipital lobe
lying semi lucid, fear from the cold
vocalizing panicked silence binded in time with mind stuck in molds
To even have witnissed this instance means it's time to grow.
the fire's flowing im slowly blowing my CO2
What do I want, what do I need?
This mission eye must see through
Take this steady ascension into the next lesson
clearing the mirror for a perspective of truth.
The more that is reflected, the more I see you

Show me
true beauty
how waves
break the shore
into individual grains
yet each contains
the whole
crystalline universe
reflecting light
renouncing midnight

Leave me not
upon the sand
barefoot and stripped
recounting sins
to the weary wind
return my heart
to loving grace
salt-scrubbed chambers
cleansed of hate
tenderly reborn

let love
rise from this
arid ground
clear water drawn
from a deeper well
with cupped hands
tend the seeds
so we may eat
of the bounty
that rightfully belongs

to no one

she is not afraid to love, she is afraid of being loved. she is afraid of him putting all his faith in her, just so she can break down, as she does so often, and shatter a bond not found in anyone else. she is afraid to see him cry and to tear the heart he so willingly exposes.

when he needs her, she is there. she uses that time to help him just as she does to help herself. as they speak, she tries to memorize the sound of his rumbling voice. her words are soft with him but never so soft as for him to fall into a slumber and never desire to wake up. she wants him to find a replaceable solace within her presence.

she loves him silently, cares for him without pay. she acts like she doesn't need his money when she aches for it, as we all do. eventually her heart will break from a lack of reciprocity. she knows this, yet she has set her path onto love-bound self-destruction. as long as he doesn't love her, she can keeping loving him. such is the life of the volatile.

-on the daily struggle with an ideal environment

     Summer

Woollen sweaters
in double panes, reflecting...
the blazing heat.

     Spring

Stale air
meets cigarette fumes:
the smile of a crack.

      Winter

Cotton shirts,
dripping sweat, chills...
a howling blizzard.

     Autumn

Burning leaves,
sharp smoke curling in:
a sprinkler's delight.

     Airco

Steady air
with ever-changing moods
in this one bottle...

Static climate
gets blown to raw shreds
- nature interferes.

I built a castle in the center of her heart,
A place where I was able to come and go freely.
All with a single purpose, to protect something so precious.
There, where I built a place I've come to know as home.
Not to misconstrue any point that I'd ever leave.
Leaving the hallways door-less
With marble pillars, that would be impossible.
Straying any distance.
Hearing nothing but the echoes that wisp between the hallways.
I've confessed to my soul that it would be the only other place I'd consider home.
Considering her eyes the wilderness, filled with wooden branches and small creatures with bush like tails.
The calm of it all.
If I had one desire, I'd want her to believe that the constant pain that she feels in the center of her chest is the sound of hands, convincing her to believe things that otherwise she would never think possible.
The sound of plywood and stone coming together to create something perhaps
past her level of what's considered sane.
The construction of pillars to protect her heart.
The constant walks in her eyes, gathering wood to stoke the fire that keeps everything warm.
When you close your eyes,
Would you find it at all strange to see one of many things that keeps your heart warm.
Night falling over the wilderness,
Revealing the wolf that constantly howls
Standing in watch

On my finger
a semi-precious stone lies.
I was promised its energies'd linger
with a colour to match summer skies.

Lapis Lazuli, blue blue blue
Please I beg-

Never lose your hue.
