Remembering you makes amnesia appealing.
There's no anesthetic for what I am feeling,
you high-heeled, cheating, cheap, double-dealing...
I'm rabid with rancor
doggone it.

You're only honest when you're not talking.
I'd rather get jiggy with Stephen Hawking
so don't come knocking if you need focking
Put THAT killer bee in your bonnet!

I wouldn't help you change a flat tire.
I wouldn't *** on you if you caught fire.
If you jumped off a building I'd wish it was higher.
Your photograph has my spit on it.

You're much less attractive than Nancy Grace
(who's an ugly slug with a monkey-**** face...)
I hope you're abducted to outer space!
I've got one more shot...
Do you wannit?

Do I feel angry and hostile?  You bet!
I've become bitter as bitter can get!
But, baby, you haven't heard anything yet...
Wait 'til I write my next sonnet!
It breaks me seeing her back in your life,
Mostly cuz I had once thought she was your past
And I was your future

I didn’t know
She was your everything
And I was your nothing at all.
lips that were shaped by cupids
saints could worship
and god did I worship
them--
from afar.
What can I do when
bible verses sound like
poetry on her tongue?
What else can I do when
her hips are my steeple
and I can't sully them
with sin?
The lines on her hands are
my koran
and I was so scared to ruin them with
my ***** palms that she was gone
before I could prostrate myself
before her,
in devotion.

I can never tell if you're joking
Because I'm not
Behind the lols and hahas are true feelings
I'm serious when I say that I want you
I want you to want me
I want you to look at me and see what I see
I would never
But I would
And I wish I could
Just kidding
Don't worry about it
It was never more than a joke to you
JR Potts Jun 2014
We joke sometimes
about falling in love,
we talk in deep detail
about our romance;
the kind of house we want,
the name of the family dog,
would we rather have boys or girls,
and we argue over who will stay home
to raise the kids, I always let you win.

We joke sometimes
about growing old together;
we talk about thinning hair,
wrinkling skin, tired eyes
and energized grand kids.
We promise to one another
that we will stay in love,
still hold hands, hug each other tightly
and kiss both daily and nightly

We joke sometimes
about a life we could be living
and I just want you to know
that I am not always kidding.
