Dear Amelia,
How have you been? I know it’s out of the blue and even more likely you won’t read this letter. But I must get some things off my chest. I have tried so many things to alleviate the pain reigning over me but all to no avail. It’s okay, I’m just trying to let you know I miss you. I have no expectations of you coming back to me, but I’d just like to say that you’re still the one consuming my days and nights and every drink I pour has been in an attempt to not think of you, if only for a minute. Maybe someday I will stop thinking of you.

Perhaps someday we’ll learn how to live our lives without fear of falling apart the mere touch of another human being. Maybe someday we’ll let someone special into our hearts, see the ugly parts we hide from everyone else. Until then, I’ll keep you deep within my heart. The boldest I’d ever been in my life was when I tore myself open right in front of you. Magically, you didn’t run away. You took good care of me and years later, when you finally revealed the broken pieces lodged deep within your barren soul, I did my best to pull them out and sew the open wounds. My God, we did so well for each other.

I often wonder when things began to fall apart. Was it when our wounds were healed and our souls began seeking something else in this ****** up world? Even now I grieve for the things we achieved together and the things we’ll never experience together. The thought of never picking a wedding dress with you kills me every time. I’ll never get to put a ring on your finger. I’ll never watch you walk down the aisle, glowing under the May sun (because you always said you wanted to get married on May 15th). I’ll never get to spend the first night in our hard-earned home somewhere in the suburb or a new apartment in the city. I wonder sometimes if you remember me fondly… or if you even think about me from time to time. Men have always been the weaker ***, far more prone to sentimentality and regret. And, well. I am regretting hard right now. We did so much good for each other but, God, I wish I did so much more. Anyways, I hope you are doing well. I pray that God is kind to you night before bed.

Maybe one day we’ll be able to talk to each other again. As old friends.
Until then…
just my wildest and saddest imagination taking over me for a quick second.

You, I will forget never
Because, are you my friend forever
Of course, we are colleagues still
And as a teammate, are you absolutely swell
Very dedicated and a go-getter
Indeed, few can do better
Also, are you newly married
But to me, will you always be a friend
The Tamanna I know remains the same
Often, does she make me beam!

You, I will forget never
In your blood is it, to bring a lot of cheer
Whenever you are around
We share a delightful bond
I am going to miss your breakfast treats
As well as the late-night parties
Really, have we had some amazing times
Rarely, does your bell fail to chime!!

You, I will forget never
Seldom, do you put on airs
Humble and down-to-earth, to the last degree
Often, do you end up filling us with glee
Seriously, Riddham could not have asked for a better spouse
Truly, are you the goods!!

You, I will forget never
Your wedding was easily the highlight of the year
The best I have attended
As a host, were you too good
And your family was so gracious
I felt I had finally achieved inner peace!!

You, I will forget never
To me, will you forever remain dear
So, enjoy your married life
Keep Riddham and yourself free of strife
Take care and keep smiling
And May Jesus shower you with many a blessing!!
Poem dedicated to my colleague and friend Tamanna, who got married just 3 weeks ago.

The world scurries for the latest trends
What feels good in your hand, what easily bends
But few see the beauty in the stubborn and the learnt
Where pleasure is never bought, Its earned
what we call love, a rare gift for 2

I’d never call myself willing to stand against the elite
But it is a blessing, to stand on my  feet
To know your eyes would drown lesser souls
I wish to always be your support, to make you a goal
Such a rare commodity  isnt seen until its gone to shore

It is not bragging, where few are blinded to your beauty
My heart is mapping, all the locations it discovered in this city
Things I’d have never done, times I never saw the sun
Set on my issues, or rise on feelings, how fun
This road has been, teardrops clear my eyes to admire you generously

The orange, pink and red, remind me, as I lay in bed
I was deranged, sinking, almost dead where your absence was
Before you said hello, before what I said
when we saw destiny, in the galaxy we call eyes, thus today
I can rejoice knowing, as lost as I was I found the right way

Like the ps2, I float in the space, cubes around me
I float aimlessly, till your planet caught me
I opened, and saw the beauty of your hue
And my heart knew It had to be you
To take many of my firsts, turn my best from their worsts

Nothing I’ve done, is reminiscent of your soul
Never in FIFA did a goal matter
Never in dragon ball, did a fight leave me better
Never did a concert leave me speechless
Like the day I fell in love with you

The song I always searched for
The taste I never experienced
The feeling I never searched for
The soulmate I never knew existed
A story I incorporated from both our histories with games and nostalgia

**** it all depends,
If we all divide or we all in,
Better repent the sins,
This ain't no religious pen,
Think you tryna' help me?
You think i need new friends?
Maybe it all depends.
The world ends , from me pen,
Multiverses from my head to shins,
The light within,
Wanna' hang with me?
Think i need new friends?

This stage, my heart,
Greets entering friends
As shades,
Not shadows,
Of their younger selves.
Despite disappointments
And promises,
Firsts and lasts,
Skins and sins,
Joys and sorrows
And bags and sags...
I still see YOU,
My first, longest and oldest.
The ever ones,
Bob and John.
Known those two lads since I was seven.

The world once in harmony fallen far from grace
The seeds of chaos and discord are seen in every place
There is trouble close by on the near horizon
And the people of the land are slowly realizin'
Something must be done to restore the world's order
For, if we don't, death will be at our very border
Who among us is brave enough to chance this perilous quest
To enter into realms unknown to bring us peace and rest
There are four: fast friends from the start
They don't yet work as one, but they've got a lot of heart
They will carry our hopes and dreams, our thoughts and prayers
They leave today as Humans and Eagles and Elves and Bears
We anxiously await their returning as we hold to hope steadfast
That the ties that bind us hold firm and we know peace again at long last
Chapter 2
Odd Odyssey Poet Dec 2024
My girlfriend turned to me, her eyes searching for clarity.
“When we first crossed paths, we were nothing but good friends.
Do we still share that bond, that genuine care for one another as true
friends do?”

With conviction, I replied,
             “Absolutely, yes.”

She paused, her expression shifting as she continued,
“Then perhaps it’s best we remain just friends. Even without the
romance, I could never bear to lose the precious connection we
forged at the beginning.

                                                                AS FRIENDS.”

I’ve seen the future,

it looks a lot like this.

Your eyes, full of old fights

we never had, but should have.

We carry on, hands full of silence.
Up early again, can't sleep but shattered, now watching a ****** movie to take my mind off the pain and my thoughts.
Not my usual style.

I feel loved
When a handshake
Somehow turned into a hug

I feel loved
When we talk over
Coffee and massages

I feel loved
When we put our warm hands
On each other’s arms and backs

I feel loved
When this nightmare looms,
But we have found a place to say
“Welcome home”.
