Poets are..
Forgetful. But they remember everything. They forget appointments, and what time dinner is.But they remember what you wore, and how you smelled…
On that first date.
They remember every story you've ever told them- like ever. But forget what you just said.
They don't remember to water the plants,or to take out the trash. But they don't forget how to make you laugh.
Poets are forgetful.
Because...they are busy remembering the important things. Like how to love someone with all their heart.

I want to write about you
I want to let you know
I’ll send my love to you from afar
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Describe you as a perfect disaster
Make you feel the same way I feel
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Make you a king among all the people
I’ll give you the crown you deserve
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Your hair always up in a quiff
Eyes shining like a dime
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Tell you how it feels
To not be loved back
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Tell them how it feels
When you looked at my way
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Tell them how it feels
When you looked at her with affection
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Tell them how much I want your eyes to look at me
Tell them how much I want you to smile at me
I want to write about you

I want to write about you
Months had passed
And now I can’t remember your face
I want to write about you

I want to remind you
Notice me as soon as you see me
‘Cause I might not remember your face
I want to remind you

I want to remind you
Talk to me please
Your voice is only what I can recognize
I want to remind you

You found a home inside me
You buried your soul inside me without permission
And it was so cruel of you
To infest my brain,
To take over my life the way you have.
Go away already!

Once I came back
I read some of my work
And I can't begin to recall
Who you are.
You see, my memory has been fading for awhile my dear.
I only seem to remember the important things.
*I guess you weren't one of them
It's been close to a year since I've written. And I can't recall a **** person I wrote about except for the person in "Crush"

Never forget the forgetfully forgotten
Just to beget the regretfully begotten.
For then you might simply be awfully rotten,
Or you might even do what you woefully fought and
Then this would be for naught
I feel like this should be longer but it's a tricky pattern to recreate. Feel free to comment suggestions and I'll add 'em if I like them.

I'm starting to forget the way your hand feels in mine.
I don't dream about you anymore.
I'm even starting to forget our memories, and even the little things about you like you're favorite candy bar, or your favorite movie.
You disappearing from thoughts, and from my life.
Now there's an open space for someone new.

The sun  is brightly shinning
may it shine through my thoughts
and break away the cobwebs deep within my mind
I had a head injury (concussion) in mid April and have still been experiencing problems such as extreme headaches and difficulties with my vision and slight memory difficulties.

such a forgetful person that I am
forgetting important things
I never forget about you though
but I just forget that you never care

Let these words manifest,
collecting light particles
to form blinding orb pairs:
weightless, mysterious---
unrecognizable to untrained eyes.

Let these condensed suns travel
at their own patience pace
down the desperate path:
unaware, hunting---
aiming to impact with wanderers.

Let this vehicle of literature
resonate earth and air
as they who stand before:
afraid, curious---
awaiting the damage yet inflicted.

Let the impact pass like typhoons,
thrashing warm winds and caressing rains
to sooth the fragile forsaken soul:
trembling, confused---
contemplating the value of their breath.

Let the moment remain frozen,
growing between forever and never,
sending important subliminals to foresight:
love, patience---
reminding the willingly forgetful.

There was not enough liquor in the world to let him drown the memory of her.
