“Wherever you go, there you are.” They warned as I crossed the first three state lines.

Now, I’m here. Far.
Yes. The change is significant
In that I can’t feel your pull quite as hard from this distance.
…Though then, pull you do,
Regardless of miles.

But night falls and the same speckled skylights up brighten the distance the same. Between you and I.

I feel the pull, eye to I.

As our stars dance ‘round the moon
Just a tease, while we close our eyes.

Nights feel so lonely
I wish I could see you
Talk to you
Pick your mind
Feel your skin against mine
But atlas, we have no time

Slumber used to offer me such vistas
as to awe and wholly set my mind free
Then, forbidden ana snatched sleep from me
I read of Them, coming from far reaches
of the Void, beyond our souls' frail cages
Star-spawned, They found Earth with ravenous glee
to feed on the dreams of all that would be
Formless They come, with dirges and vexes

You'll feel Their touch when you awake screaming,
when you smell rot even on a sunny day
When horrid waking visions are unfurled
of a thousand eyes in darkness gleaming
Now I no longer sleep, knowing that They
occupy, beside us, this fetid world
Roused to writing this after a nightmare. The first new sonnet I've written in 2 years. Also a sufferer of insomnia.

undiagnosed thought spreads
               - species -
                             from within my form
an eccentric  newcomer
newbarer
a giddy little mammal
pelting the walls of its enclosure
unphased and joyful
a ceaseless battering
a pinball of mental energy
and disorientation

(against medical council)
                                  welcome !

induce derangement and heck
make me rife
i was boring
and ripe for defilement

new tainted me can take a chance
flinging experimental feces
a manner of preach
that'll able me
a cockpit in society
[plattering my output
without restraint
i bludgeon my imagined view
upon creation at large

a charge without caution
with a disappointing mild reaction
dismissive
i failed even to be a minor polarizing irritation]

Momma said
Daddy’s dead
I’ve buried him in the back

Get the cash
From the stash
Throw it in the sack

Grab the keys
Quickly please
And in the car you get

Take us far
Drive that car
We haven’t got there yet

Take a pill
Let’s just chill
It’ll  be alright

In the motel
We go to hell
Just for the night
