Somewhere along the way,

We changed
aury Dec 2018
I miss the you I used to know
The you I fell in love with
The you who made me laugh
The you who teased me just to see my smile
The you who cared about me
The you who couldn’t go more than a week without speaking to me
The you who always told me what was wrong
The you who said I’d never lose you
The you who let me into your space
I hate that version of you
Because you made me fall in love with you
You broke my heart and
It’s been months
And I haven’t been myself since
The pieces are too small to glue back together
now I wish I’d never met you

Does my age affect how people think of what I do?
Do my looks alter what people think of my personality?
If I tell them my beliefs, would they hate me?
Can simply my gender change what something could have been?
Does my outward distract from my soul?

I've changed
I'm still the same
Just did a little growing up
Still my core remains
We can not relate
When you changed
Nothing remained
Except for your name

This pain I feel
You used to heal
These days I'm blue
5 years and I barely know you

She confuses me a lot
She is different now
A winding unstoppable force
And I hate it
I am unable to hold her
To understand what she has become
She is so far away from me
Stepped miles towards somewhere I cannot follow
I do not know her anymore
Who is she to me?
What do I owe her?
She has lost the right to call me anything
She acts as an acquaintance
I just want her back
The way I remember her
When she used to care
To inspire
To be there
When she was still known by my soul
I am deeply torn by her
And she doesn't even know
Idk. My thoughts are ******* me off.
