Start your day with a prayer and a smile :)
And tell yourself that everything is going to be fine
Remember everything happens for a reason
And whatever it is, stay positive and enjoy the season :)
Have a good day everyone ;)

we may feel like we have all the time in the world,
or maybe that time moves too fast.
but sometimes,
i think we don't realize that
tomorrow is not guaranteed.
we may not realize what we have
until it's gone...
so seize the day.
live your life to the fullest.
because anything can happen in a day.
note to self.
RJ Days Jan 2016
Let's get lost in the grace of forgetting
past mistakes and errors of our foolish youths
and let us live amid the worldly hope
gained from exchanging sentences of solitude
for paragraphs of insight into better days

Let's abandon our halcyon memories along with
our sordid ones eschewing their credits and excesses
and let us eat chocolate cake now while we still
have teeth in our mouths exchanging bites of confection
for those trim waistlines we never really had

Let's play in the fountains like kids without
cares about having kids of our own or owning gardens
and let us plant gardens on fire escapes and in alleys
growing herbs from the soot and exchanging harvests
for wisdom and a proclivity for jigsaw puzzle completion

Let's debate the merits of interstellar politics
without the fuss or nuance of believing we were ever right
and let us pray for our righteous *******
earned by sweat and salt after exchanging fear of rejection
for a fuzzy blanket and a burger on a snowy day

Let's give up on fixing blighted communities drowning
in the pity of their own sacrosanct infirmities
and let us beat our own swords into ploughshares to sell
online if anyone will buy them exchanging broken guns
for cold hard cash that binds better than pectin

Let's sleep all day if we feel like it until
we've slept away all our regrets and fears
and let us awake whenever we **** well please to eat
baconfat and sip bourbon exchanging all the calories
for the lives we've always wanted but never had

Why wait, hesitate?
Put things off, procrastinate?
Spring into action!

Sure the fatigue would come...
Infiltrating the sanctity of our skin,
gripping our muscles
and chafes us within.
Right down to the bone.

No doubt the fear of future days
would eat at us raw.
It would gnaw at our minds...
Debilitating thoughts that would *******
no one else but our own.

Of course the seeds we've planted,
mightn't see past the layer of soil
in which they're embedded.
Seeds hidden in the ground for future reaping...
They mightn't flourish to meet the harvest
and greet the hand which would
welcome them full grown.

Most likely the days before us
only show of dark clouds...
That constantly scare us.

But today...
Has time and space for us to exist.
Today has a crisp sweetness wafting through the air.
Firm, unwavering ground beneath our feet.
So let's claim today because today is ours to keep.

Today we share the returns...
Of the sweat and the tears that in the past
we've sown.

Carpe Diem (2)

It is a hot day....but, we're having a brief shower
i sniff the earthy scent carried by the afternoon breeze,
feel it blowing, brushing against my moist skin,
i spot a beetle wandering away from its home,
the Pine tree...it travels... oh...so...slowly...inching
...reaching at last...the...window...sill...

Amongst the leaves of the tall Fortune tree
daddy long legs appears......its fragile body quivers,
as it dangles...going down from its web
to meet its neighbor and beetle friend,
.....and from the window ledge
the two fall down on the bushy flower bed,
like a dual suicide act.
quickly, they vanish... into the thick
of bloomers, yellow, white and pink

The rolling hills landscape on the horizon
breathes peace and calm at this very moment
the valleys...streets......the church and houses
people from all walks of life, going through their chores,
they suddenly enfold my whole being...
there is  pulchritude in the faces of the women,
slim, strong, bulky...hips, bouncing, swaying rhythmically...
fair-skinned and dark, short...long haired...all are smiling warmly,
like they have no other cares in this world
signs of fortitude on their faces...obvious, but unuttered.

i, too, feel a lilt deep inside..i beam with a smile,
acknowledging theirs, as they walk past me.
enjoying every bit of  God's miracles
that meets my eyes

...a few lines pop in my mind...they become a story...or a ditty
suddenly, words in a joke...from someone who's witty
comes sweet laughter...during moments untethered
hours of heeeeeee, and ha-ha-ha, and shared giggles...

Anything that comes to sight
comes with a smile, so bright
i squint from its brilliance
i bask in its radiance
i refuse to let go of this glowing,
an unknown  inner feeling,
outside, it is revealing,
my soul, it is embracing

i claim it:
this moment of bliss
i have finally seized!

one day my mind will start to fade,
one day my skin will start to decay.
one day I will only wake up with tears,
one day I will question why I was denied with fear.
one day I will be unable to move.
one day my bones will break like frail shoes.
one day I will cry to a god that I don't believe exist.
one day I will become too weak to kiss.
one day I will die slowly as I breathe.
one day I will come crashing to my knees.
one day holidays will mean nothing at all.
one day I will sit as my health begins to fall.
one day I will look back at all the wrong I've done.
one day the sky will **** me with the sun.
one day I will try to remember who I am.
one day I will no longer give a ****.
But today is today why throw it to the wolves?
life is too short to be appart when we have so much to lose.
And today I know that I will always know your face.
that warm comforting smile.
even the crazier days.
But after all is said and my body is all used.
I will remember that forever, that I'm madly in love with you...

A new day

Rife with possibility

Insert some new tranquility

Into your mind

A new way

Of looking at the positive

Believing life is causative

A new lens we must find

Truth is

Difficult at times to discern

But even so down deep I yearn

Now to make headway

Love is.

So don this mask for now, shall I

And in the face of fear I’ll fly

For today's a new day

Today will soon be history
But what an opportunity
For us to shape our destiny!
It would not seem to make much sense
For us to waste this our one chance
To really make a difference!
Our yesterdays we must forget
Today is the one chance we get
for tomorrows without regret.
We should all embrace each new day
Tomorrow be able to say
We made the most of yesterday.
