Tiger

From the darkness comes a sound.
A heavy footstep on the ground.
The Earth it shakes and twigs are heard to break
And all the animals quickly run away.

From the shadows there comes a growl,
From a beast so deadly foul.
It moves so slowly as it prowls,
In search of something to ****; its face a picture of scowl.

Within the trees it is camouflaged.
It blends into the background
And from the jungle there comes an “arggh!”
A man to death is eternally bound.

The claws that rip and tear at skin,
Before the teeth sink deeply in,
To such soft flesh; the touch of death
And at the end there is little left,
To ever say man stood at this point.
The bones skinned bare of muscle on joints.
All that remains is the sleeping tiger, next to a pool of blood.
He is the lone survivor, for this is his neighbourhood.

Later as the tiger leaves,
The remains remain hidden behind the trees
And all that was, is no more.
All that is left are the prints of the paws,
That lead away through leaves of green.
A broken path is all that is left to be seen.

the American Indians
have befriended
it
as they've felt an
affinity with
it

you might get a shiver
down your
spine
if you hear the sound
that it will
mine

it is an animal of great
intelligence
and it also has a watchful
diligence

from the prairies
to the snow
country
it will tread a path

I crawl all over the ground,
In the middle of the night,
Darkness and prey are both abound,
And I'm hungry tonight.

I've got stripes all over my body,
Everyone runs away at the sight of me,
But you're the only one who stands in front of me,
As if I'm an actual somebody.

I hear you cry,
In the middle of the night,
But I don't care 'cuz I'm hungry tonight,
Don't I care? - Please don't let me try.

We're both hurting,
And we're both crying,
But the fear's still lurking,
And I'm still trying.

Don't let me see you run,
Don't let me hear you scream,
'Cuz the urge inside is strong,
And I promise
The chase will not last long.

I've got stripes all over my body,
I choke myself at the sight of me,
I can't stand myself 'cuz I'm a nobody,
Oh I should just end this misery.

But then you stand in front of me,
Even though I'm hungry tonight.
You don't run away at the sight of me,
Even though I want to eat you alive.

I crawl all over the ground,
In the middle of the night,
Darkness and prey are both abound
And I'm hungry tonight.
I watch the yellow grasslands growing slow,
safe inside my window frame where heartbreak can not reach.
I'll remain the captured queen silently content with my small space.
My conscious clean, no blood to stain.

The golden beast of the sahara soaks in the open fields.
Afraid of no one and nothing but hunger.
Crowned long ago, his reign will outlast the wars, the floods, the drought.
Hands enormous enough to ****, gentle enough to love.

I remain, eyes fixed on the beast as he belts a roar.
The sound vibrates my glassy outlook, coaxing a scream of my own.
Salty tears and shuddered cries, break the crusted lips.
Pain erupts, long lodged deep in the gut.
The broken wail of majesty, shakes lose the inner me.

Have you forgotten so easily?
About the creature that waits patiently.
Waiting for the opportunity,
To break free.

You hide from it under the covers of your bed,
Where the light of your thoughts barely tread.

You can try and run,
And you can try and hide.
But it will always be there,
Crawling in the darkest corners of your animalistic mind.

You shelter yourself in your awaking slumber,
Hiding from who you truly are.
You can try and outrun yourself,
You won't get very far.

You suppress the real you,
And put on the fake you.
You tranquilize it so it stays silent,
Pushing it to grow more violent.
You are a carnivore,
No different from the animal.

We are the evil beneath your skin,
We are so close to freedom!

Corgi, walking man, stopped where I sat.
Climbed onto me, and sat in my laps.
Man apologised, but corgi unmoved.
Only after enough scratches, and a goodbye,
did it resumed walking the man.
he'll be seen with
others of his sort
for they travel in
a drove's escort

he's not an Angus
nor a Hereford
yet he's of the
bovine accord

over the centuries
he's roamed inside the Utah state
so he can find food
for his stomach's sate

the first nation people
will symbolize him on a totem pole
as this represents
his strength of role

if you can guess what
animal he is
you'll be the one
to solve the quiz
